What do you do if the studs are not perfectly square, as in their example? Shim them?

Totally agree with you on all you said. HORRIBLE instructions indeed! We just bought and installed a Delta kitchen faucet an hour ago. Missing parts and parts not even mentioned in the instructions. Would be a little helpful if the parts were bagged and numbered. I thought Delta was supposed to be a good faucet. This tells me they need better management and help. What a sad company!!

I installed the valve at the depth suggested then installed 1/2” Hardie backer. I now have 3/4 inch of plaster guard that is proud of the Hardie. My tile and Thinset will make up about 1/2” of that number. My question: if my plaster guard is 1/4” proud of finished wall, will I have any issues with finish trim?

I just installed the Chamberlain widespread bathroom faucet. Following the instructions, they state to install the hot water on the left side (I went by the red color on the bottom of the valve). The instructions also stated to install the longer tube away from the spout so I did this and realized the handle directions were reversed to I thought I could switch the direction of the handles based on the instructions but you cannot. After watching this video I saw that the supply line is supposed to be away from the spout. With the Chamberlain, the supply line is the shorter tube and should be installed away from the spout. Needless to say, this cost my a half day extra to install these faucets. The instructions are not clear and may be incorrect. I wish I watched the video first. Great video. Thanks.

I just got this shower valve and controller valve... complete garbage. It not only has a hot water 'adjustable' mixer for a hotter shower it also has a flow restrictor built-in somewhere - in the valve! Pulled the shower head, and the water just sputters out of it! Unfortunately for those here asking there is likely no solution to upping your shower pressure, the pressure problem is predelivery to the shower head. Gotta love some pin-head government office dictating 'ideal' outlet water pressure limitations, and the pin-head engineers going by that guide! This leaves your water discharge side of this valve restricted to flowing as if through the same pin head sized restricted opening! The sink faucet in the same room has excellent hot water and pressure! This valve is garbage!

so how far out from the inside of the shower wall does the valve have to stick out? I'm installing the Delta 500 series pan and wall set and the wall panel will only extend the depth 1/8th inch. So 1/8" + the stud depth. Does the valve have to be flush with the inside of the wall panel or should it be sticking out a bit? I have the valve now sitting at just about 2 3/4 inches which was tricky because after following the math, I was actually -1/4" and therefore had to add depth to reach the desired 2 3/4". The valve may be sticking out a bit but unsure until I dry fit again. Thanks for any info.

Hi Simmi, I'm sorry there is an issue with the battery life, we are happy to help! There are a variety of reasons a Touch faucet's battery life may be shorter than expected. Using c-cell alkaline batteries will have the best capacity. See here for more information: support.deltafaucet.com/s/article/Battery-Life-Seems-Short

Delta Touch 20 faucet I paid a plumber to install, works for 5 min and then when try to turn back on nothing. check under sink each time and get led light faucet to turn on off then 5 min later won't turn on. Turned faucet on and took out batteries to by pass. Now have a reg faucet and not spending a week under my sink. I have bought Delta faucets for 50 yrs and never again. When I can save up will replace, cannot afford to have a plumber come back and take it out. I think my grandkids toys have better make connections, flimsy wires and cheap plastic battery housing, why??

So the 2x6 I cut at 69" 3/8. Worked find. I had a big issue getting the wall on one side to connect to the back wall. The problem was the back 2x4 on an existing wall was set back by about 1/4" so the back wall would flex backwards and not lock in. once I figure that out all was well.

Seriously screw you for designing your products so that the whole install has to be done from an awkward position. There's no reason to make the threaded washer for a faucet handle too small to fit over the nut of a standard hoses. I mean God forbid you preassemble any of it before working on my back over the ledge of a vanity.

I know others already stated thia, but, thanks for explaining what to do with the thin washer. The only other discrepancy is that the directions say to use silicon grease on the threads. Other videos (lack mentioning the thin washer) say that the grease is necessary to help seal because there is not enough of a water tight seal between the rubber and the pipe. So, water from the overflow area can sneak down below.

Agree that it all looks and feels super cheap. And why is there an extra rubber gasket they then tell you to throw away? And why are the tolerances so bad that you need to seal the whole thing up with silicone? And why is no one mentioning that the pop up stopper is held in place by only the pull of gravity on the feather weight plug? I have to give this one a frowny face

When we bought the Delta touchless faucet during a total kitchen remodel in 2012, we figured this would be convenient and cool. We're now on our third solenoid (which has now died as it won't shut off when running the hot side). They seem to die routinely, for one reason or another. The warranty only lasts 5 years, so now we're going to have to purchase another one (third purchase). If you are looking for reliable touchless faucets, stay away from Delta. I'm not a plumber, so we paid a professional to install it originally. Since then, I'm the one under the sink, lying on by back un-connecting and re-connecting the solenoid. It is not an easy, nor simple task. Their support staff barely speaks English, doesn't comprehend the issues, and acts as if you're stupid when explaining the problem. Their solution is always, "replace the solenoid." It seems to me that Delta should come up with a better, more reliable design. WTF? We're going to fix it for the last time and start looking for a better faucet company.

When I screw the shower head on to where it is tight, it is not upright. Can’t get the ball to move in order to rotate the head around to an upright position. This video says not to use a wrench but the instructions say you may need it in order to hold it straight. Not sure about this product. May be returning unless I can figure this out.

@amdrum126
@amdrum126 21 күн бұрын
@@raghukoppar not sure if you figured it out but i finally managed to make it work after corresponding with Delta. First i used some Teflon tape on the shower stem. I found some tape that was a little thicker good for plastic or metal attachments. Still the white teflon. Then screw on the Delta shower head to where it is tight. Dont over tighten. Make sure you hold your shower stem that comes out of the wall with a cloth wrapped wrench so it doesn’t move. Then here is the tricky part! As the instructions that came with the shower head say, put a wrench on the shower head (i wrapped some electrical tape on the wrench so it wouldn’t scratch the shower head). Then I used a small step stool so I was even height with the head. Hold the wrench tight so the shower head won’t screw on any tighter while hand turning the shower head around “clockwise” to where it is level. The connection at the ball joint is tight but the shower head will rotate. Good luck
