Scott Rowley did good magazine articles on Adamson/BC about 6 years ago, so it may be good that he's attempting a book. The Allan Glenn book was as shallow as a polaroid. BC comes & goes as a band I might like to listen to, & the three pointless, but "I wanna know", Qs for me are: 1) Heart of the World: it sounded like an update on the band's 80s sound (yet it was left off GH) & a year later, "Beat the Devil" (BC sounding like a drunken blues-rock band): how did it happen (a polar opposite/seismic change in 90/91?) & why was Ahern, as per a cassette I had, the drummer on NPLH but the later CD said he was not? 2) Tattoo (formed 1973): as per an Adamson site, he said he disbanded the band in 1976 because he was no longer into Rory Gallagher (who did an album Tattoo in 1973), the original "check-shirt wizard" guitar player, but did Stuart really play/like Rory's stuff then? 3) is it true that the guitar on Into the Valley was a session player, not Stuart, or who did what, removing Stuart, on that first LP,. Hmmm.

An amazing podcast.Glad to get another Big country fix, after seeing the band just over 2 weeks ago in a cave in Derbyshire. It would be amazing to hear some more interviews.I know two or three english super fans, who would have some amazing stories.

Coming from Scotland and having met Stuart Adamson on two occasions,i maybe took this amazing band a bit for granted.I think they were under rated by the music critics in the UK.

Great interview, it was good to hear Tony talk and tell his story without interruptions. I've been a Big Country fan since The Crossing and Steeltown, saw them live on the PIOT tour in Milano, even managed to snuck in for the soundcheck. I was seating with Tony and Bruce in the (empty) audience space, while Stuart was playing a few things on his electric guitar. Fantastic. Tony's last album is great, so close to the 'Big Country' sound. Yesterday, after watching this video, I also managed to find a copy of his previous 'The great unknown'. I sympathize with him for not going on with the BC name, and doing his thing instead. it was the right thing to do. Too bad those health issues got in the way, that's the way life is I guess. But the album is great (could use a little less compression, though ;)

Tony seems like a cool human. Big Country is very underrated. Especially as Stuart may be best songwriter in modern music. Salute to Tony and Stuart/ Big Country. And to all their fans as well.

What a great and influential musician. I personally learned a lot from just watching Tony in the 80's, and his energy helped me develop my own style; which has blessed me to have a career in music as a bassist. I'll be lifting you in prayer for the healing of your legs and the end of your diabetes.

April 2022. Just finished the book “Stuart Adamson, In A Big Country”. Excellent read. Thank you Allan. I was lucky enough to see BC in California, in the 80’s. (Took my Mom as well.) We knew BC were something special and unique. Anyway, thanks for writing this book. Loved it. Cheers!🙏Rest Peacefully Stuart Adamson.❤️

Wow, never heard Tony speak before. So cool. I have only started I didn't think Stuart did it to himself but the parasites 👹👺 behind the record and film businesses took him out. But hearing this from someone behind the scenes is making me change my mind. I still miss Stuart, I LOVE BIG COUNTRY, always did and always will. Love you too Tony, you have me a glimpse of cool in a shell that looks like mine.💪🏾🙏🏾✝️😎🏁

Loved the story of Jack's first BC experience especially and laughed my head off at needing money for therapy the after the "you know what" incident. 🤣 I feel sad for those people for whom music is disposable. We maybe old school but it was definitely the right school. I'm going to miss your voice on the way to work, Lee. Love you, my good friend. X
