It‘s Natasha Maddison, Maceo‘s Manager since the early 90‘s, until the end. Unfortunately Maceo stopped touring. Well, with 80 years of age, well deserved to take rest

Thanks for this one. I was there and had a great time arround the age of 17. Listening to funk music at the North Sea jazz festival for the first time live. I wanna thank Macio for this and the band;-) KEEP GOING;-)

34:47, man there is just no end to Fred Wesley’s talent. Adding scatting to the song like that for the jazz festival -purrfect and he’s so amazing at it too. He blows my mind. Holy shit that was an amazing breakdown.

Have you listened to his album “Breaking Bread”? It’s the first vinyl I ordered for myself and still my favourite . In real life I only show people who are close to me because it’s very special to me, but I’ll help a funky friend online!

Thanks to the legendary Godfather of Soul, we will never have any band of musicians that can compare to Fred Wesley, Maceo Parker and the world renowned JBs. Though some have come close, these guys will always be the very epitome of excellence.

Yep legendary horn sections,,, there were a few great groups that had tight azz horn sections back in the day🎉 and that made the difference to me,, like icing on the Cake,,🎉 but I’m a horn player, so I’m prejudiced,, dam!!!!😮😮

@@rodtrues1 Interested what you think of Lettuce? Not the same straight up funk, but HEAVILY HEAVILY influenced by JB at a very deep level. Hope you dig it! This recording is sick as hell! Fred and Maceo together is just so money. Zoidis from Lettuce gets my goat in the same way Maceo does but its obviously different.. but very reminiscent.
