You have to be able to resist the forces you project. So, the stronger you are, the tougher/more durable you should be. Given that Gia is a baby vampire, just days or weeks old at this point, she is at the bottom of the totem pole strength-wise among vampires. Elijah, being an Original and over 1,000 years old, should be immeasurably stronger and therefore more durable.

@@darkpartizanSpeed is still speed though. And while there doesn't have to be a "Flashtime" equivalent, you still would need the sensory capabilities and reflexes to function going at such speed. To put it in perspective, if you equate the top human running speed to the speed of the explosive device you see the Originals outrun in the show, then a sub-sonic handgun round would be the equivalent of going .89 mph. There are other problems with being able to outrun explosions that would break the series like say Klaus being able to visit Mystic Falls in seconds or Elijah/Klaus being able to help Rebekah when she is in Morocco as running at such speed would enable someone to run from New Orleans to Morocco in less than 20 min. Which is why I tend to look at the high end speed feats the Originals did as outliers/PIS. Since they do not act like they have that speed in other circumstances.

@@bkaa18 the Originals bodies actually doesn't their own, since magic changed it alot. It's like, humans have enough reflexes to drive F1 bolids, but they can't run at same speed, right? Moving faster is not necessary gives you ability, to process all the things at that particular speed. I mean, even Damon was able to shoot Klaus when taught Jeremy to be a hunter. Also, I think there's other limitations, why they can't just run to other country in minutes (pretty much, they can't run over water). Superspeed was given to avoid werewolfs attacks, so it can be pretty limited by distance, sight or blood hunger. Like I said, my opinion is that working throughout magic and vampires just not always fully aware of what really happened while they moves from point to point. It was stated when Vicky was turned to vampire and brothers taught her abilities, and it was about "I don't know how to teach you superspeed, just run and feel".

@@darkpartizanRunning over water is not a specific power but a speed thing. Like technically, based on the math, if a person could run like 70 mph, they could run on water. It's a speed/mechanical energy kind of thing. And since we've seen vampires outrun or at least match crossbows, they would technically be fast enough to run across water from a speed perspective. Though, doesn't your F1 bolid example kind of work in my favor. Human's can't mechanically reach those speeds, but do possess reflexes to somewhat navigate at those speeds. Vampires and Originals now have the ability to go at least at F1 speeds given how Damon was able to intercept a crossbow bolt fired at Elena while he was at an equal distance from Elena. And since physically and emotionally a vampire is really just an enhanced human that feeds off blood . . . stands to reason that their reflexes would similarly be enhanced in proportion to their speed.
