I think the cabinets could really use latches to keep the doors shut when traveling. I just foresee stored items knocking them open and falling all over the place. that being said, I think the trailer turned out spectacular. That natural wood is beautiful.

So amazing! Hey we are brand new to your channel because wr bought a 1959 Westerner( apparently not common?) From a young couple who bought it thinking they could just" seal the windows " and use it as a family camper. They have 3 small k8ds and realized it was way more then they could deal with. Fast forward to me and my husband who is an Engineer with skills in carpentry...Hvac Electrical....and other skills... ( he put Central air in our house and put all hardwood floors in our house in the last 3 months. When I told him we should restore a vintage trailer he was absolutely down with it We found the Westerner and now the skins are off and ALL the wood is rotten ( condemn style lol)... we found you and you are AMAZING. YOU ARE EPIC you do everything in detail and you have become our go to and reference . And you are the best .not sure where this journey will lead us...but we are greatful to have you along for the ride. You are so so appreciated. I brag about you to anyone taking on this humongous project. You're the best. Thankyou Bill and Julie Cole❤

Very nice Rob, another happy owner. I've watched your videos for quite some time and am curious. Have you ever given thought to a restore/modified trailer? My thoughts would be stretching a scotty out to dual axles adding enough room for a bathroom. I understand modifying for tanks, just a thought.

Thanks for this video! We have a 1958 Shasta and the trailer brakes weren't working when we took her out this weekend for the first time. There was a beeping sound coming from the wheels as if it was letting us know it wasn't working. Not sure if it's an issue on the car harness side or if it's an issue on the trailer wiring side. If you have any guesses, would love to know! (we keep our trailer up near our camping spot, not at home, so it's harder to test).

I do agree that the countertop on both the bed and dinette side should be curved. Nice work.
@RobTheRebuilder9 күн бұрын
I just couldn't because the rest of the camper interior has straight edges.
@paulapaul5259 күн бұрын
I would have preferred to have both counter corners rounded. I do love how the countertop and the flooring go so well together. If you had gone with rose golden trim, you would have had to get a rose gold sink and faucet, too.💖

You are correct. That is why I pushed for silver.

You let off the genius throttle too quick Rob, should have rounded both counter corners to match so they don't get hurt getting out of bed. Silver trim much better than the "rose gold", that would be a big no for me. Just my opinion, didn't say it was a good one...
@RobTheRebuilder9 күн бұрын
I didn't want the dinette to influence the whole countertop but probably would have worked.

Hello, my name is Trisha and I wanted to know if you happen to know how to tell what type of camper of vintage you have. I had just gotten one. I know it needs a lot of work but I’m in the process of trying to move it out of state so I am going to just fix the minor parts for the time being and then re-do everything from getting it out to fixing it up the proper way to do it..
@RobTheRebuilder11 күн бұрын
You could post pictures on a FB vintage camper page and someone would probably know what it is.
