I kinda like the idea that due to thier very technocratic way of governance (literally combining the greatest minds into a gestalt consciousness), the Kree would probably have a fairly materalistic worldview and thus have no gods or only fairly unimportant gods.

I know this video is 8 years old but I just recently bought Marvel's Marvel Masterworks on there Atlas Era and the One that Always caught my eye was the OG Marvel Boy as he was like a Very short lived Comic Run in Atlas and was thrusted into there other Comics and for a LONG while just was gone never to be heard from till the Silver Age of Marvel and after Atlas went under and bought out by Marvel. The late 90's Early 00's Marvel Boy wasn't bad either but I was soo confused on who was the REAL Marvel Boy but it seems like they keep changing it. great video as it seems like not many talk about the three let alone the Golden Age MB as imo I liked that one as had more, as it had cool Space stories. :D

Glad you could even find this video! First one I put out on the channel. The first Marvel Boy did change over time. Eventually settling on Robert Grayson. Within the Marvel Universe - The Timely comics of yore were retroactively made into adaptations of Marvel Boy's (Robert Greyson) early adventures. It doesn't help that there is also Captain Marvel and Quasar who are both closely associated with this character - all three using different versions of related wrist band weapons.

Thanks. I've mentioned in reply to some other comments that I think there are ways it could still be done. I think a podcast format where 2-4 people discussed a story arc or even a run of 3-6 comics in series would be a great way of talking about these subjects without using my previous format. I just don't have the reach to know those people in my life. I don't know anybody else in my real life who collects comics. If I meet the right people or get the right reach to find those people - I am all about it. I need a dynamic duo or a team of avengers to assemble to pull it off.

The only big problem with patreon (twitch have same problem) is, that you must need a credit card, even when there is a paypal option, you still need a credit card. So any country that uses pin cards instead of credit card can't use it, well some of those you can get a credit card, but must a certain minimum amount. There r pay credit cards, but that will cost extra money. Either some countries have high taxation what is used with patreon as well. Although these r problems i have seen a few months ago, idk if they still r there on patreon. I do wonder if the comic is send worldwide, as than 7 bucks (discounting high tax) would be pretty cheap.

I could do this but not in the format I was doing it. I think it would work great as a podcast format if I had 1-3 other people to talk with and we could discuss story arcs in detail and leave links to the Marvel U on what we discussed. The same goes for Spawn. I would love to do this idea but I don't know anybody else who collects comics other than the interactions I do through this channel. Short answer is I am working on it but the long answer is that it's hard to make new friends as an adult. It goes back to what I said at the beginning of the video about comics being a mostly solitary experience. Eventually the channel might grow large enough where I have the kind of reach to achieve these goals and meet those people. Hashtag futuregoals. I have been a Laurel looking for my Hardy all my life. So, don't give up hope - just hope I get enough reach or meet the right people to take on that venture

What was the last Marvel comic that you were truly excited about? What's your favorite comic of all time and who's your favorite writer of all time?
@Cosmic.Comics
@Cosmic.Comics 3 ай бұрын
Last Marvel comic I was excited to read as an issue and as a series was G.O.D.S. - I was also excited Empyre when it came it out. The last series I really enjoyed was The Ultimates 2. The last Marvel Comic I bought has probably been a little over a year - whenever I canceled Guardians of the Galaxy. My favorite Marvel storyline is probably Cosmos in Collision. The entire Quasar run does a great job of leading up to it. Favorite Marvel writer is Mark Gruenwald. Favorite author isn't a comics author - Mark Z. Danielewski. His most well known book is House of Leaves. Favorite comic author is regrettably - Todd McFarlane. Spawn just keeps going after all these years. I both hate and enjoy his writing. It's complicated. I thought Ed Piskor was doing some interesting stuff but then he killed himself. I thought Rick Remender was doing some great stuff (X-men run, Black Science, Low, Deadly Class) but then he kind of fell off with his more recent projects. I wish I had a favorite single comic. I hope I'm still waiting on it to enter my life. I have always thought that The Uncanny X-Men #201, the first appearance of Cable (as a baby) was kind of neat but it's definitely not my favorite or even a top 5. Just interesting.

I've dropped all of Marvel after obsessively collecting the entire line for decades. Woke content isn't the real problem- they hired writers who don't know what they're doing and editorial standards are non existent. Continuity is completely shot
@Cosmic.Comics
@Cosmic.Comics 3 ай бұрын
I agree that continuity is shot. I keep feeling like I'm missing something - but I'm not. It's just write whatever you want over there. Again, my biggest problem with Marvel is boredom. I keep trying to decide if the problem is me (maybe I have read too many superheroes stories) or if the problem is the creative direction of Marvel. I think the biggest problem is they are hiring writers who don't seem to know or understand the history of the characters they are writing. I know it's a Herculean tasks but maybe a writer should spend several months reading ALL the past Thor if they are going to write for Thor. I don't know who writes for Thor these days, just using it as an example. Marvel's continuity was one of the things that attracted me to them for so long.

@@Cosmic.Comics they desperately needed a Roy Thomas or Mark Gruenwald type to keep them right. Damage is done now. @@uxm4life94 ain't a day goes by I don't wish Gruenwald had as long a life as Stan Lee. To this day I think he's the gold standard. When it comes to continuity, to running a character, to running a franchise. He had rules around his writing. Wish I had them right here - Mark's 5 rules. That Captain America run and his Quasar run are some of the finest Marvel comics ever written. Wish I knew who at Marvel hired on Greg Capullo to work with Mark on Quasar. I've never heard anybody talk much about this part of Greg's career. When all the artist banded together to create Image - i knew a low selling comic like Quasar was going to lose Greg, and sure enough - he got shuffled off to do something else. But there for a moment we had something special. Happy to see an end to the Krakoan era. We all knew this day had to come. May the phoenix that is X-Men rise stronger from its ashes. I feel like the reset is really being brought on to have a new baseline for when Mutants get introduced back into the MCU. It's a good marketing decision to have Krakoa end right now.

I think something like a podcast style might work - where two or three people discussed an issue or storyline in detail (and maybe discuss the week/month's current issues as well) where they didn't show the entire comic panel by panel. But I need to find another Spawn junkie (or two) who are as deep into Spawn as I am to pull that off. I think Spawn does need to be discussed in detail as there is a huge hole in any kind of detailed analysis of the lore - That hole and my love of Spawn are why I switched over to Spawn for a bit. It kind of all goes back to keeping art in boxes. Art that nobody but me ever gets to see. It's why I want to talk about Spawn. I've got all this art in boxes but I can't show it off. How do I talk about it without showing all of it off? I don't know. This has kept my head spinning for the past few weeks. I got some ideas but I'm just one guy trying to talk about comics and keep it honest

Such a great series. I have been saving the recent trades up for a binge. It doesn't matter if I have one or four, I'll go through them all in a day

I've been increasingly becoming more bored with new, "mainstream" books. I have stuck with Hulk since immortal ended. It's had fun ideas, and now Nic Klein's art has really captured my attention. I grab a few other ongoing series, but I'm mostly grabbing one-shots and mini-series. My local shop doesn't branch out too far from known sellers, so I have to do my own research to find interesting books. Seven Years in Darkness has been an interesting read, but it's a good example of an almost unknown publisher that I and the buyer at my lcs had never heard of before this book was solicited.

I am jumping into Seven Years at year two. I probably need to try and pick the first part of the series up. I was hoping for a trade but with such a small publisher that might never happen. It looks great. I am in the same boat of grabbing one shots and mini series based on what I think looks neat/good. I scour Previews each month as a starting point and fortunately I have a shop that is willing to bring in whatever I order.

@Cosmic.Comics Just last week they released an annual sized reprint called Year one report. It collects the four issues.

Pretty good stuff excellent ideas excellent creativity to follow through with the illustrations that there was an initiative a constant form to keep you wanting to read and to be intrigued by this of course in today's useless times you're not going to see such Drive such storytelling and such initiative and such a passion for life you're going to see nothing well but weak trash

I get it. Hate it. But I get it. What those demons do to those soldiers is 18+ material. Some pretty solid depictions of violence.
