I enjoy flow type movements and unorthodox training. As for this template, I like adding some crawls, a role, a Capoeria kick into a crescent kick, into a cartwheel into a squat. I might throw some crawls in there too.

A couple basic club movements combined with some heavy-ish OH movement seems to be a magic combo for shoulders. One of our jams at BodyTribe is some kind of press, a crawl, and a club movement. Put the club about 30 feet away. Press (or whatever ya want), crawl of choice to the club, something groovy with the club, then crawl back and repeat.

@@Bodytribechip Does the club program on your website include ideas of how to program clubs? Everyone seems to say something different. Sets and reps, volume cycles for one, timed sets for another, etc......

@@farstrider79 Not yet, but I'm filming something right now, hopefully done within the next week or so. Currently it's more instructional. but the new video will be some template ideas for integrating them into any program.

It’s SO refreshing to see this exercise taught the correct way! 99% of the people you see doing them, are doing them wrong. Excellent video, thank you.

Not the official water shoe, the Aqua X, which I reviewed in another video, but they dry faster than the Aqua X and I use the Mesa as water shoes all the time. I have two pair now, and the old black ones from this video are my current summertime water shoe.

I've gone through some of Mark Wildmans videos about the mill, but he just says "by the same side ear". This wing fling thing really changes how to do that part. Changed it from being a jerky mess to getting smooth and it really works the muscles with no shock to the joints.

any advice when you have asymmetric strength doing one handed club drills and dont have lighter clubs... should you choke up? for some of the more difficult leverage drills I have lousy eccentric control on my weaker side.

Thanks a lot. I started with a baseball bat which improved my shoulder and upper spine mobility tremendously. But it's too light and didn't provide enough inertia to get the movements right. Tried to continue with a 4 kg sledge hammer (roughly 9 lbs). Doesn't sound much but due to the weight distribution and the lever it's not forgiving at all. Put my club together with 1" x 400 (roughly 15 1/2") mm && 2" x 400 mm according to what you suggested. One of the best pieces of advice I found about diy clubs. Mine is V4A - so it won't rust too much. GOOD to start with. Enough space to fill the whole thing with - heavy - pieces later on. I think I'll take old screws and stuff and buffer it with some foam-pads so it won't rattle. I'll definitely check out your other content. Subscribed !

I recently discovered this channel while searching for reviews of Xero shoes, but it was this video in particular that convinced me that this is one of the best and most underappreciate fitness channels on KZfaq. Your breakdowns are eloquent, thoughtful, instructive, non-dogmatic, and, most importantly, freeing. The fact that you collaborate with Dan John, one of the very few industry figures I respect through and through, lends you even more authority and credibility in my eyes. Thanks for your careful consideration of such a wide range of movement-related topics. You've earned a subscriber! 🙏

They're more mesh than not. On wet days, your feet will get wet, and that does tend to also mean they let a lot of air in on dry days.

Great video. As a former pro boxer who grew up boxing in the 80's and 90's, I watched Mike Tyson training a lot. There are many videos of him doing squats just like those while training. It established his stance width and balance. I'm sure it was part of Cus D'Amato's training program. He had a perfect upright squat just like that. Thanks again. Check Iron Mike out squatting.

Just a tip, the routines with club bell that go through music etc. Have an advantage that most don't understand. When you put the movements to music it adds an element of tuning to the movements which develops agility alongside more controlled strength that isn't developed without putting it to music and the need to control and accelerate the movements to the timing of the music . It may seem hoky to those who don't understand the purpose but it is actually very beneficial to getting more out of your club training.
