Dude you do some killer covers whats your signal chain processing look like are you using all stomp boxes, fractal/kemper or plugins for these ? You nail the tones so well on all these covers/tutorials ?

Just saw Johhny Mar play Rain and this with The Cult in LA, that was a sight. Then Billy played How Soon Is Now with Johnny Mar 3 days later at The Greek Theatre, great to see. Good rendition.

I sincerely love your videos and can't thank you enough! What did you play your Black Falcon through to get the Cult sound?
@AlternativeGuitars8 күн бұрын
Thanks Colin, all videos use the Boss GT6 effects unit (sometimes 2 of them) straight into the laptop, so no amp needs to be mic'ed up. On the GT6 I use the Roland JC120 or Fender Twin simulator amp setting, then its a big stereo spread across 4, someties 6 channels in the recording software. For The Cult tracks its chorus/delay and distortion, sometimes I add in a flanger. For Hollow Man I was using 2 GT6's so distortion/chorus/delay on one and the other had a clean Roland JC120 sound mixed together, gives it that larger feel/sound. Like using 2 amps at the same time.

Super as always!! How do you dialed in that sound on the rhythmguitar?
@AlternativeGuitars8 күн бұрын
Thanks Pluto, Its more of an Overdrive sound than Distortion, so more like a Boss OD1 sound than a DS1, has some chorus in there also, the Gretsch helps to get that distinctive sound also

Didn't know that band before, but sounds really cool! 💙 Maybe named after Bowies song + Andy Warhol? Nice effects with the video, especially on your shirt, looks like you wear a Dandy Warhols band shirt towards the end! 😎 What a pitty you missed David Bowie live , luckily I saw him 3 times, he was so amazing. R.I.P. 🖤

Could be partly named after the Bowie song - know that they were friends of Bowies and appeared with him during the 2000s.

Thanks Gary, wish i'd seen them around this time (was too young ha), even with just Wayne H on guitar they sound massive at the Royal Albert Hall gig, first tme I saw them was at Reading 91 and they were a different band

@@AlternativeGuitars hey days in Leeds 1987. Smoke machines and fags on stage. Great era to be a student. Shame they fell out really as that first album was massive in terms of quality. Same with FOTN on the Visionary Heads tour. Wish they’d produce more albums though. Found another great listen too. Type B Negative. Caught them on a recommended list. Kind of a tribute to Pete who died way to early.

*That was pretty rad. I always assumed the intro motif was a synth with a pitch bend? But maybe it was just effects heavy guitar? Either way, you did it justice.*
@AlternativeGuitars10 күн бұрын
Think the original is just synth (or a cello recording?) but I think Will S sometimes plays the intro with a synth/heavily effected sound
