Really? Voice totally shot and the band just going through the motions. Sad really, very very poor. It's over

Agreed. When you think how great they once were, it makes you weep. Why can't these bands just retire gracefully, they surely don't need the cash?

@@manfredwilliams3860 I totally agree. I'm guessing they are surrounded by people around them that don't dare say things like "your voice is shot" or "the band's lost its magic". The band are dillusional

@@stuarthenderson7663 I 'm lucky enough to have seen them several times in their pomp, but the sight of them all relying on back up players for support, is truly sad. They could probably just about get away with it but for the fact that Ferry's voice has completely gone.

@@manfredwilliams3860 yes I totally agree. The same is true of Elton John, Paul McCartney and Rod Stewart. Once the lead singer's voice is shot it's like a plane in a nosedive. Nothing else around can save the songs being performed. Lifeless.

I've seen Bryan Ferry countless times, I'm 50 now and have liked him since I was 11 yrs old. Every concert I've been to has been outstanding. Yes, he and the rest of the band are obviously much older so won't sound like they used to. Fair play to him for doing a 50 year Roxy Music tour at least he sings his songs unlike some younger bands who get the crowd to sing for them when they can't hit the high notes. (Robbie Williams for one) Can't wait to see him again in Manchester......I Love you Bryan x

Occasionally there is the odd plus point about being virtually dead. As this band were only the best band that ever lived while you know who was a member, seeing this is a good reminder of the reason for being so old. People mention the lack of voice; compared to the lack of Eno, that's like saying " Why doesn't he wear that nice jacket he used to have ? " .

I've seen 4 "old farts" tours this year. Nick Cave/ Midnight Oil/ Elvis Costello/ Roxy Music. This was by far the most disappointing in terms of vocals- his once amazing tremello voice has faded to blah!!!!!!!!

Of the bands you mention I only saw the Midnight Oil tour in Los Angeles and they may be old but they most certainly still brought it live. They were absolutely fantastic! I wanted to see this concert tour by Roxy but just haven’t been able to pull the trigger due to Bry’s voice. I saw him solo once in the late 80s and he and his band was nothing short of amazing. I think I prefer to remember him that way.
