I'm a hugely satisfied Barrel King Gold Member. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered, but I've felt that one thing BK whiskey was missing was age/oak. Looks like that will no longer be the case. I know that you hang your hat on blending and finishing, but I wonder if you've considered buying some new toasted/charred barrels from, say, Kelvin Cooperage and eventually releasing a toasted or (my preference) a double oaked bourbon or rye? I know it would be a time/money investment, but the end product, in your hands, would undoubtedly be all kinds of amazing. Maybe you have already? I've only been a member since March. Cheers!

Based on how this turned out on a short time frame, do you think that it’s just going to be on banger after another this year (even though I know all BK is amazing it appears it is making it easier, right)?

O M G.... the nose is so soft, rich, and warm. Then the flavor on the palette kicks in the door and brings the party. Watched this video and then waited for my order and absolutely amazing!!!! Crushing it!!!!!!! Thanks for your work and continuous effort with your blends!!! Love it!!!

Probably one of best things I have watched related to the process of blending. Appreciate the candidness in the video showing the ups and downs along with the time it takes to get a quality product. The amount of patience in this process is amazing and not for the faint of heart.

Btw... everyone wins an award in pay to play competitions. Awards don't really mean much when you have to pay to play.

The Ascots are some of the worst awards - the fact they accept single barrels is just stupid. Also small release single batch products are dumb to award - they simply aren't available to buy. We aren't even half way through 2024 either... so you really can't name a best whiskey of 2024 yet - traditionally the best stuff comes out in the second half of the year (and yes I know they use a rolling calendar instead of a strict calendar - I'm just calling out the misnomer)

I took several of my BKs to a bottle share last weekend, universally Batch 81 was considered the best pour of the night. We have OWA picks, EHT picks, Jacob's Well 211 month Hardin's and a number of other really great pours there. Everyone LOVED all the BK bottles, but 81 was universally the "how do I get a bottle of this?!" Keep up the amazing work!

Hope you got my bourbon I dropped off for you (Cedar Knoll Distillery, Amburana finish) Only down side I can say (not really a down side except slowing the wife’s roll) is each bottle is unique and never to be repeated again. So each bottle I have is cherished like nothing else in my collection. Thank you all at Barrel king for doing what you do!!
