This video is how I found the origin of the portuguese word "franco atirador" (basicaly marksman/ sniper) comes from Franc-tireur. I was not expecting that at all.

At least you put in music to your video, which is good. Videos of people showing us stuff but not saying a word makes one ask “You too chickenshit to talk? Fuck’s wrong with you? Say something”

Something interesting to note: According to Robert Gaudi's "African Kaiser," a history of Generaloberst Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck and the Great War's African Campaign, Vorbeck's Schutztruppe (largely comprised of black Askari soldiers) almost exclusively used these single-shot, black powder rifles over the several newer Gewehr models. Their drilling with the weapon helped to mitigate its manifold shortcomings in the field against newer, better arms. Though many of them later captured British Lee Enfield and Portuguese Mausers while on the warpath, more than a few held on to the old, punchy workhorse that was the '71 until the close of the war.

Ballistol is my go-to cleaner lube for all my guns both smokeless and Black Powder. Great stuff. Been using it for years, trouble free.

That weapon not only was used in the war of the Rif, but also in the Philippines and Cuba. All the way up to the Spanish American war and even later during the Spanish civil war.

43:00 As you say, the cavalry's needs have a high priority here. Those square studs may keep the cylinder from oscillating back and forth when on horseback, especially when moving at a trot. This may reduce wear and tear on the hand and the Abige gate spring. Does this sound plausible?

Lows powers and lows recoils, 8 rounds and very simple to reload? Yeah this is a recolver design to fit the roles of a semi auto pistol.

19:46 the proof was often pieces of the enemies barbed wire. This worked until frustrated troops began snipping many feet of wire during a single foray then used it a few inches at a time to prove they followed orders last night.

Really no complaints with my SKS. Spell check always guesses wrong.
@johnroma94123 күн бұрын
SKS was my first file. And the least accurate. But stripper clips work very smooth with my example. Reloading is fast and easy. Never jammed or failed. Wood stock holds up with no cracking. Rough look ,fit ,and finish. But reliable defense arm. Not really accurate enough for hunting. Unless it’s close range and standing still. No bird or squirrel gun. Easy to clean. Bought mine in cardboard box for $109.00 from local gun shop. An advertised sale price in weakly newspaper add. Really nom complains.
