49 is dividisible by 7? 4 + 5(9) 4 + 45 49 If 49 is divisible by 7, then 49 is too. 4 + 5(9) 4 + 45 49 Yikes!

Fun fact: There are three instances in this video where the number Michael says matches with the video's runtime at that point. First when he says 17 at 0:00:17, second when he says 11027 at around 1:10:27, and third when he says 20219 at around 2:02:19.

Did you know: The LCM (least common multiple) of 1-10 [and 12] is 5040, and the example number shown (362,880) is equal to 5040 x 72.

If you were initially wrong(2/3rd times) and you switch, u will definitely be right If you were initially right(1/3rd of the time) and switch, you'll definitely be wrong. That is, by switching, you'll finally be right 2/3rd of the time. Not switching is just like guessing 1 of 3 options and nothing further than that, ie, you're right only 1/3 of the time.

What if there were 1000 doors. And after you pick one then the host would tell you 998 which are wrong. Would you switch then?

@@max5250 it's more rhetorical question here, like if you look at the issue when the numbers are exaggerated then the right move becomes much more easier to see. Here with the 1000 case the guy is essentially just showing you pick the wrong choice.

Well you can always run a simulation and see that the always switching strategy converges to 1/2 so….

Except, when you _really do_ run the simulation instead of just imagining it, always switching converges to 2/3 so...

Assume you stay with your first pick. If your first pick is Goat A, you get Goat A. If your first pick is Goat B, you get Goat B. If your first pick is the car, you get the car. You only win 1 out of 3 games if you stay with your first pick. Switching means the opposite. It's just basic math/logic kids understand.

"Well you can always run a simulation and see that the always switching strategy converges to 1/2 so…." So, it is quite obvious you either: - haven't even tried to run a proper simulation - you made a "simulation" where instead of staying or switching, you created random choice with 50% odds

There is nothing special about 2^(1/2) being irrational. *General Theorem* If any integer N is not a perfect n'th power of an integer, then its nth root is always irrational (and provably never rational p/q since p^n / q^n can never be an integer).
