Excellent video! Do you think this hike is okay in December for two senior citizens? We are both in very good health. I know at 3000+ meters I cannot hike uphill without pausing every four steps to catch my breath. But downhill I'm fine. My wife is in excellent health.

Hey there! This looks glorious and thanks for making it so detailed for the rest of us. Did this stage have any dangerous bits such as exposed edges, parts requiring ropes/stepping on metal bars, or rocky areas which should not be climbed when slippery? Or is the difficulty mainly the amount of uphill/donwhill you need to do? Thanks!

Thanks for the insightful video. Some great footage and useful information! (I think the balance between music and talking is just right here btw) I'm heading to Switserland myself this Summer and have booked an additional 2 days of travelling just to visit Oeschinensee when I saw a still image of this place. After seeing this video I believe that was a good choice :) can't wait!

Nice video . The hike is not technical , but is extremely tough . (Especially if you carry 10kg bag and it’s hot ) . You need to be fit to do this . The climb takes 3-4 hours and not everyone is accustomed to such prolonged physical exercise . In addition is useful if you don’t suffer vertigo in r have been on exposed mountains and ridges before . If you are worried about the exposure you breathe harder making physical effort worse . All in all , as long as you are fit a beautiful and not technical route .

Hello, I am also planning 5 lakes hike next week. I have downloaded 5 Lakes Walk brochure from the Zermatt website in that broucher names of the 5 lakes are Stellisee, Grindjisee, Moosjisee and Leisee but in your video none of them is mentioned. I am bit confused now am I looking at some other route or you have been to some other 5 lakes hiking trail within Zermatt. Can you please tell me something about this ?

I have a question. Matterhorn has an altitude of 4478 m while Jungfraujoch has an altitude of 4158m. Then how is jungfraujoch the highest point of Europe ? Is it not Matterhorn then ? Can you clarify
@WalkandTalkchannel
@WalkandTalkchannel Жыл бұрын
hahahhahaha, sorry for laughing but you are absolutly correct! It's a PR stunt that people fall for 😝They call it "the top of Europe" because it's the highest part you can get to by public transport 😂... I've been there together with being around the highest peaks of Switzerland, let me put it this way, I wouldn't go there if I could pick😅 but it you can't manage high altitude it's a good place to go given you can take the train 😉 Just fyi, the highest peak in Switzerland is Dufourspitze which you see in this video in the beginning, it's behind the glacier you have in the video, 4634m

I haven't seen any more impressive films about the Via Alpina than yours. I started with the Via Alpina and made it from Vaduz to Lauterbrunnen. Now I have to work for three weeks. Then it's on to Griesalp, all the way to Montreux. With your films I'm all the more pleased. Thank you very much!

I'm so happy to hear this, just so you know! thank you very much! that's a rather long hike which part is the best in your opinion? I have not had time yet to do the whole thing because I focus on route 6, the alpine passess trail (new videos will come out) but I think via alpina would be safer for me to do alone so happy to hear about your experience and if there are particular sections I should focus on first 😄?
