Nice review. Good examples to show the basics of these powers, especially for people thinking about getting into the game.

Restrictions are not fun. Only being able to use small and weak Pokémon is not fun. Games should be fun.
@JackOropeza5 күн бұрын
I'm thinking of a format where you have a Trainer as your Commander, and you can activate during your turn and you can you a Trainer card from your hand. Giving you 2 Trainer cards per turn instead of the current 1 Trainer per turn. Singleton, 100 Cards, Extended Format going back to Black & White.
@JackOropeza5 күн бұрын
Gym Leader Challenge sounds good, but Im not interested in playing weaker pokemon just to create a format.

Hmm interesting take i dont think garde will go so well woth so many charizard and dusclops same with lost box due to kyurem just doing insane dmg in regi drago, if anything raging bolt probably do better since it has ogerpon for charizard and actually do pretty well againts regidrago so I will probably put it like regidrago charizard in 1, raging bolt lugia lost box garde in 1.5 the rest is fime

@@yuugael4010 I think Garde will struggle at Worlds / have smaller showing just because how long the games take and draws being worth less - in general it’s power is insane, and it can comeback into any game Kyurem is going to be interesting for sure, it can just win games against Lost Box and those Stage 2 decks!

This video is a bit old, but if you’re still willing to help I’d love some help with a Lycanroc GX, it doesn’t have to be too competitive because GXs are pretty old now, but I love lycanroc and I have a bunch of them to work with
@WoodyREC17 күн бұрын
@@rileysylvester1651 GX are technically out of rotation so I think you can just have some fun with this one - if you put in up to 4 Lycanroc and 4 Rockruff then add a variety of other rock Pokemon you own! Rock Pokemon normally have psychic or grass weakness, if you can get a mix it means you can use different things against different decks so they can’t hit you for weakness!
@rileysylvester165116 күн бұрын
Lycanroc is weak to grass so I’m going with a fighting/fire deck, is there a certain balance I should go for the two types or is it fine to go 50/50 (same question for energy cards

Ive been getting back into the TCG with Friends and Family. We all play super casually, i dont have that many cards, and only have 6 decks at the moment (4 theme decks I customized, and 2 completely custom decks), but im looking at buying more theme decks. We play so casually however we ignore Weaknesses and Resistances due to the lack of variety i own, and have custom nerfs written on a sheet of paper (for the slightly too strong Gen7 cards I want to use) I only use my older cards (Gen 4-Gen 7 era Pokemon) because I dont like the Damage/Health Inflation Gen 8 onwards added (some Gen 7 cards are bad too but I only use the ones i deem fair to the rest of my cards) Since we play against eachother only and are super casual, we also like to keep custom deck building pretty balanced. Most of my decks stay close to a 20/20/20 rubric with cards. But some have more or less, one deck has more Pokemon, but less Trainers, while one more Energy, but less (more expensive) Pokemon. If you only plan on playing with friends and family, rather than getting super competitive with it, i also highly recommend buying a Theme Deck that looks cool and just customizing it a bit. No need to go all out when playing casual, but keeping a deck with a set theme/gimmick is also a huge recommendation. I find my custom decks with a gimmick way more fun to use than my basic ones. (One of my decks has almost every Pokemon focused on doing a little bit of chip Bench damage, while another has Pokemon that constantly Discard energy, and Trainers to retrieve that energy)

So I'm trying to get into the game (casually) and started with buying one of those big 151 OG boxes, as well as a zapdos-ex box and a fire starter deck (i believe it was a starter). I really love zapdos-ex, galloppa, arkanine, vulnona, tauros (some of my favorite pokemon), and was thinking if there is some kind of "aggro" style deck of playing these aggressively stat-ed pokemon and doing a lot of damage quickly in the game? If not, what are some recommendations for a deck featuring these pokemon (not necessarily just from the 151 OG set, even tho I really love the first generation and would like to keep it as pure as possible). I even drew a simsala-ex and a mew-ex in the boosters, can I use them in this deck too?

@WoodyRECАй бұрын
@@SeniorAdrian normally because you’re not using big HP ex Pokemon things are normally KO’d with an attack so weakness doesn’t come up too much - if you’re unsure could just ignore weakness for those purposes!

Is it better to have your attacking pokemon to be of the same type or varying types?
@WoodyRECАй бұрын
So there are positives and negatives - it’s nice having more options for attackers, hitting for multiple weaknesses etc but because you needs two types of energy then and specific ones at specific times the deck loses some consistency in some cases!
