Why does she fill the tall vase with water, when the flower arrangement is designed in a dish with foam, it will not bring up front the vase. So it serves no purpose! I'm a professional florist, so I know! Unless she wants the water in the vase for the look of a vase full of water!
@FlowerMoxie2 күн бұрын
Correct, the foam and lomey bowl are serving as the water source. The water in the vase is meant to be decorative as it wasn't preferred to have the vase be empty. We hope you found the basic construction of this stemless centerpiece vase helpful and informative!

Just out of curiosity, why are you not giving the roses any water source? Thank you.
@FlowerMoxie10 күн бұрын
If you're making this right before the ceremony, the roses should be okay without a water source. Skipping water picking can save time!

I have been a florist for over 35 years and I have used the miss piggy roses. On one occasion a bride asked that the green Kermit button poms be added to the roses. I found that to be quite charming and actually a very pretty combination.

Taste is personal , as a Dutch florist we dont sell this stuff anymore ,plus you need to clean it very very good otherwise you get very much bacteria what will shorten your design and cleaning this kind of stuff is very hard.. cleaning every time with chloor is the only solution

I don't remember where I heard this but I need to know if it's true I'm doing wedding bouquets with black calla's. I hear your not supposed to put them in the water with other flowers cause the sap kills the other flowers?
@FlowerMoxie18 күн бұрын
Keep them separate while processing/hydrating them. Then after the bouquet is made, just change that water daily and you should be fine!

Do you soak your floral foam before or after taping?
@FlowerMoxie18 күн бұрын
Before! Immerse the foam in a bucket or sink of water and make sure it's totally saturated. Then add to your vase and tape! (Make sure the vase area you're going to tape is totally dry otherwise the tape won't stick.)

I saw in another one of your videos you mentioned, covering the stems with a handkerchief to protect the brides dress from the stems that have to be against her. Wondering if you could tell me how you would attach the handkerchief to the bouquet? Thank you I’m doing this in a couple days!😅
@FlowerMoxie18 күн бұрын
Pixie pins are great for this! Wrap the stems, fold the handkerchief and put the seam at the back. Then secure with short pins like pixie pins. You'll do great!

Hi! I’m using this method to make a cascade bouquet this weekend and in another one of your videos you said that you use a handkerchief to protect the brides dress from the stems and I’m wondering how you attach that. Really hoping you’ll see this in timeto give me an answer before the weekend! 🙏🏻 Thank you!!
@FlowerMoxie19 күн бұрын
Rubberband!
@carolynritter123319 күн бұрын
That was fast! Thank you! So I’m guessing you put the handkerchief around the stems and then rubber bandit closer to the top and it hangs over a bit?

I love hydrangeas but they’re so hard to work with because they need so much h water and go south very quickly.
@FlowerMoxie19 күн бұрын
They're very heavy drinkers. When we use them with foam, we make the hole in the foam for the hydrangea stem, remove it, and pop them in at the last minute!

My favorite color is orange so I love the pops of orange roses, and they contrast well with the sweet pea and delphinium.

Keep them in a cool spot and be sure to keep that foam hydrated with a sink sprayer, garden hose, or watering can!

We submerge it in water first so it's completely saturated, then we'll transfer and tape!
