Thanks for the video. You do not find ANY videos to use that show the horse NOT knowing what you are teaching. I have been a trainer my entire life but, not in dressage. I have an 11 year old mare I plan to do just that with. However, I could really use your advice. Could you send me a list of dressage moves to train a green horse? Meaning, 1. leg yield, 2....ect ect?? This way I could focus on each thing in order? I do not want to confuse my horse but I know she is a champion. Leg yields she does well with but for dressage training, I need to know how to teach her from the ground first.

Day 1. Starts of halter breaking by clutching around foal front and back and make her move forwards and stop. Day 2. Place halter on and drag her around being mindful not to allow foal to throw itself on the ground. Week 1. Practice halter breaking. Use positive reinforcement (scratchies) to get foal to enjoy sessions. Week 2. Hobble Training. Keep rewarding with positive reinforcement scratches. Pick out hooves daily. Trim hooves monthly. Week 3. Teach to move hindquarters, front quarters, back up. Week 4. Desensitize to kids toys:- Waterpistols, trampolines, floating balloons (on a windy day), popping balloons, splashing, popping balloons full of water. Week 5. Chase the grain on the back of a motorbike/quad bike. Week 6. Add children! Grooming, cuddles, hide and seek, playing with tarps. 6 months old. Lunging, and long reining. I guess my turning out BOMBPROOF Child Friendly ponies by 3 y o was all wrong? By your account I should wait until they're weaned? But, what about worming? Hoof trimming? (Foals feet are born crooked, so many crooked legs could be saved, had they been trimmed earlier). What about those foals that get legs caught in fences? They could have been saved, if only they'd been taught not to panic. What about injuries? How can you treat a foal that can't be caught?

Have you ever had a horse with an abscess that their leg shakes/shivers? Im not sure if he is in a lot of pain and that’s why he is doing it or if it’s something else? I gave butte it helped for a while. But I’ve never seen. Horse shaking his leg

This is one of the most valuable training videos I ever seem. Brilliant concepts introduced - the 1st trickle of a stream; the dumping tension notion & I almost saw a spider; the ultimate state of relaxation required & the comfortabilitt with the whip, translate the fundamental sentiments beautifully. It's very evident here the level of talent present in the trainers here, both Heath & Brie! Loved thus. Thankyou so much for sharing your wisdom & skill ❤️🐎🙏

My horse started doing a very slow but animated collected trot at the beach, to keep up with his buddies who were walking who are much bigger than him. I decided to try and harness that and now he offers me something close to a passage. Is this a good way to go about it?

That colt seems like a statue, unnaturally still. These videos that show a horse that is already behaving impeccably are of no use to those of us who have a more unruly colt, but surely more normal. I actually feel sorry for that boy, if only for having to listen to all that talk. Mmm, not impressed.

I start handling my foals from birth! Never had an unruly one 😆 The only unruly colts I've had are ones I've bought from lazy breeders who don't bother handling, worming, trimming hooves, treating injuries. They just mass produce and ship 'em out. 2 x such youngsters DIED by 3 y o because they were never wormed as babies!

A horse cannot lay down. Just as we cannot lay down. Proper word would be lie down as in rest or recline. Please use the word properly. When you say teach your horse to lay down that means you're going to teach it to try and lay an egg. Not possible. Hope your instruction works better than your grammar. From another horse enthusiast, Emily

I think this such a better way to start liberty. I have used other methods which worked on a horse that was familiar to free lunge and a quarter horse but I have found that it doesn't work for my mare. She is a hotter breed and she gets to nervous and doesn't come around.

this is great to know! I work with my neighbor's horses, and their eating time in the morning is around the time I like to exercise them. The temp is the best in the morning, so I always prefer working them early. I work them very lightly anyway, but knowing this, I may increase the intensity just a smidge.
