Thank you for this video. Maybe you can answer the question of why we can only connect to these devices when the computer is on the same subnet as the device? This is something I cannot seem to sort out. When I used the default factory configuration, I could connect to the Slave device from any of my VLANs, but for the Master device I was only able to connect it from the same subnet (VLAN) of the "bridge" interface. It would be wonderful to be able to connect from any of my other VLANs. It is not a networking issue in our environment. The VLANs I am referring to have total access to each other

Are Cudy routers reliable in the long run and if so how long would one last? Also isn't the cudy firmware already Open WRT but with slight modifications out of the box?
@scoop_distribution10 күн бұрын
We have sold the brand for around 2 years and its extremely reliable. Cudy does have their own version available on their site but this is not the stock firmware. You can find instructions to flash to the standard OpenWRT firmware here - openwrt.org/toh/cudy/start

Ok, I can connect to the router remotely, but I can't access the devices on the local network. How do I set it up?
@nieljoubert983510 күн бұрын
I also have the same problem, I used Zerotier VPN, I can PING my server (that's on the VPN server side) from the VPN client side on the router but when I connect a device to that router I don't get access to the server even when the VPN switch is toggled on for that device on the router. at 4:35 min he says cudy allows you to route specific clients via tunnels , how do I do that if that's the case for my device not seeing my server?

If both my WANs are PPPoE clients, I do not need the recursive routes or the check gateway right? Because if one PPPoE fails, it should automatically failover to the other one.

How will I get this to work behind a CGNAT? It seems all isp's are going to convert to CGNAT if not already.
@scoop_distribution29 күн бұрын
If you are behind CGNAT Mikrotk's relay service would be used. Everything would still work but might have an effect on VPN performance
@jacqalas29 күн бұрын
Will this relay also work for wireguard clients? Where can I learn more
@gloriouszanozukonongena2758Ай бұрын
Thank you this will help me with my hotspot clients now using Cudy AP with Powerlynx they are using Wireguard VPN to integrate with. 😉.

I wonder how speed compares when there are some walls between devices. My problem is not wifi speed in optimal, laboratory conditions, but in six story brick house when I can detect roughly 40 SSIDs and some old devices had problem to connect at 5m distance, some can so-so work through 50cm/20inch thick wall, but problem is mix of attenuation and interference.

meh, sounds good, doesnt work had to go back to countless jobs because the crimp contacts wasn't in properly. only thing this "EZ" crimper does better is the stripping, rest is meh.
@scoop_distributionАй бұрын
It sounds like your crimper is faulty as this is not a common issue. You are welcome to return it and we will provide you with a replacement.

I been using Alien for last 3 years unfortunately I am having an issue one day no WiFi in home upon connected with support I have find out my wifi antennas gone which really surprised me I have spent 389 euro to get my Alien and the reason to get this only reviews about it and I was thinking this is proper company who have been doing really good in network technology but soon I realised they are third class people as they said to me and informed me that you are out of warranty and we don’t do hardware replace so basically through your 389 euro into bin after just 2 year and 7 months of use I was really surprised a company of this size have no department or ethics to deal this kind of issue after this experience now it’s depend on you all if you want business with them people I say good luck because if problem arise then you will understand what kind of third class approach they have to deal with issues like I have my mission is spread mouth of word everywhere about them people I am going to warn everyone stay away and soon I am going share all screen short of thier response to me and all unsuccessful RMA responses they write to me it’s ridiculous and rip off.

I think i will lose connectivity to the DNS declared in the specific routes, untill the ISP goes back online. The DNS added as recursive are always routed through the same ISP, so I won't have routes to those DNS thorough the secondary ISP. Is that right?
@scoop_distribution4 ай бұрын
Thats correct. These are just some examples of well known IP's that rarely become unreachable but you could replace them with something more preferable to your setup

It sounds like there is either an issue with your device or your setup as this is not typical on the Cudy brand. We would recommend returning it to where it was purchased for testing.

@scoop_distribution4 ай бұрын
Never heard of an issue like this before. Reset should default the password to 'admin'. Perhaps check it isn't a caching issue on the browser.

Range?
@scoop_distribution4 ай бұрын
Depends on the client device but we typically don't recommend further than 100m line of site as a general rule of thumb
