Hi, thanks for a informative video. Please remember to remove the clip on the front of the bolt, take out the two ejector hooks, make sure you know which is going on each side, they are not the same. These are getting very dirty and you get trouble ejecting shells. Best regards, Annie the Norwegian

The fact that anyone would try to adapt a $200.00 rifle to competition tells me that it punches above its' weight in its' original configuration. However adapting something to a role it wasn't originally designed for doesn't consistently work out.

That “other” manufacturer Lost Nation R&D is hardly unknown. It is none other than CZ. I am not a Biathlon competitor, but I own several Anschutz s and yes once you try theirs nothing else is good enough, but if you want a sport to prosper you had better get some good entry level equipment. “Daddy I want to try Biathlon, would you give me $5.5 k for a rifle” will not cut it in most American house holds.

Forsberg has 87 podiums in 152 races, including 42 wins (27.6%), this is an outstanding result. Neuner has 175 races - 63 podiums, including 34 victories (19.4%). Theoretically, Neuner could surpass Forsberg since she began to shine much earlier, there is reason to call Neuner potentially the best biathlete, but history does not tolerate the subjunctive mood, so Forsberg!

Great getting Lisa right, very brave of you to make picks like you do. Lisa's shooting won it for her. I haven't crunched the numbers but her skiing looked a bit slow this year and she's always been quite fast. I wonder if she traded speed for accuracy. I read that her coaches told her to pick up her ski speed in the North American races and she looked faster then even if Lou was tactically able to outsprint her in a couple of races. I think Ingrid will be back next season firing on all cylinders even if she is a bit fragile emotionally, she doesn't have the same demons that Lisa had... just the Norwegian press pack. The French women upped their game in the post fluor world - do their ski techs have a secret, if they do the French men didn't have it. The picks for next season will be interesting.

yeah I do believe she said she was going for accuracy over top speed also the fluoro ban got her because the Italian wax team was below par for a lot of the season. jeanmonnot is called " dirty lou" because she clips skii poles on purpose, she even admitted that she's "not proud of it". Lisa would've taken her out in the Soldier Hollow pursuit if it weren't for her dirty play

NZ has a lot of ski areas on great terrain - just not quite high enough - there’s approx 38-40 small and larger ski areas - we have a lot of free ski, half pipe, FIS (Alice) professionals. And if you heliski or climb you find kiwi guides and alpine workers everywhere. We actually have a decent alpine e history of mountain life

Regarding pronunciation Karoline Knottens name should be pronunced straight forward. You got that the K in her name should not be silent. Try to check the pronunciation. Hanna Kebinger should be pronunced voicelessly. Karoline Knotten's name should be pronunced the k especially should be voiceless. K in Norwegian and German is a voiceless plosive.

For me it's clearly Magdalena Forsberg! It's like your Basketball analogy where I don't see Michael Jordan even in the top 4! 😛 And to your question: Yes, for me Career and overall world cup results matters more than any majors! Therefore if you'd slightly switch your weights Forsberg will be on top! The same with Basketball if you only look at the most important (IMHO): Total Points Jordan would be on rank 5 (currently) with LeBron James first and Kareem Abdul Jabbar close second (followed by Karl Malone and Kobe Bryant)! Karl Malone is probably the name that is missed when it comes to the GOAT discussion! As a Swiss I clearly regard Federer as the GOAT in Tennis! Without him neither Nadal nor Jokovic would have reached this level! Federer's technique is above both others! IMHO this makes Federer the GOAT. You might ask why Federer didn't win more. Well, the explanation could be very simple: Nadal only had to hit the ball over the net, Jokovic had to choose about two different strokes, however Federer could choose among 4 different ways. In a split second this could make all the difference when they play nearly on the same level! 🤔 Forsberg was joking about never having won an olympic gold medal! Why you rated olympic gold that high I really don't know. Because Forsberg's career was simply outstanding. And even Forsberg said she would never give one of her Globes for an olympic gold medal. She even said: "Olympic races is about what you can do on this very day but overall is what you can do in a whole season!" You defenitely should rate career and overall cups higher than so-called majors! 😇 Don't get me wrong all those 4 athletes have been my favorites. However if you'd ask Magdalena Neuner who is the GOAT she'd probably answer Magdalena Forsberg! 😀

Biggest improvement this year is Easily Arnekleiv and Lampic , in the oposite side we got Stina Nilsson who's sadly failed to impress since her first seasons 3rd place. She lost like 50% of her speed from first season (21 or 22 i belive) to this season. Future names to think about is Julia Kink and Tannheimer from the germans, absolute beasts this season considering their young age. Kink even placed top 20 in the world cup once in the states i belive.

Absolutely. I coached at the IBU cup, Jr Cup and World Cup this season and at every level Julia Kink was on the podium. And Tannheimer kicked butt at Jr Worlds (as a youth!) 😳 The German women are about to be lethal.

@@BrianHalligan-USA Yea i truly think Germany will be the #1 team next year on the womens side along with France. Sweden has ALOT of potential aswell but this year was a fiasco on basicly every level, id say the ONLY person who preformed to the same standard as last year was Mona Brorsson who sadly quit this year. (anna magnusson hasnt been totally bad either) We got like 2 or 3 juniors coming up next year, Linn Persson hopefully back from her surgery and hopefully Elvira finds her speed again. Sadly i can already tell that Hannah Öberg is struggling with a eating disorder, shes basicly half the size of her sister now and she starting to look sickly. (which would explain alot of her illnesses and poor skii times this year)

I think the biggest improvement was Lena Haecki Gross actually. She was solid top 30 athlete prior this year, but she took it to next level claiming multiple wins and podiums. Reminds me of Hauser from 2? years ago where she also took it to another level past her formative years. Sadly, this season was a step backwards for the austrian. Germany and France look set to be the two best by far in women's field in years to come, but I don't think next year will be it yet - the best Germans are too young as opposed to many in team France being in their prime (Justine, Julia, Lou, Sophie > Franzi, Vanessa, Janina, the likes of Jeanne Richard, Selina Grotian, Julias Tannheimer and Kink are too young to be constant threats imo). Sara Andersson looks very promising for Sweden and there's a youth Elsa Tanglander (who, as I understand it, has not decided if she wants to pursuit xc or biathlon) but I am not sure if there's any other top prospects if I'm being honest? Who did I miss? :d
@Slashresto
@Slashresto 4 ай бұрын
@@muflon8342 Elsa likely will go xc as it ha sounded this year but yea she can become as good as anyone if she wanted to. Sadly the Swedish team has very very poor shooting % the past year so maybe a new coach is the best thing. Also hannah imo needs to start fixing her energy intake cause she looks unhealthy even for a endurance athlete.

With some of these athletes, Lien in particular because of the strength of the Norwegian women it can mean they have to drop down to IBU Cup to prove themselves again. Would have been nice to show the results from their IBU Cup performances in this wrap up.

It's funny because I actually did look at IBU cup results but edited it out. 😅 I decided since I was trying to select athletes from 20+ in the rankings to finish in the top 15 overall the IBU cup didn't contribute to that. But I agree, Lien had a great season, especially if looking at her IBU cup results.

What exactly do You mean by MOMENTUM in this special context? The maximum push power?
@BrianHalligan-USA
@BrianHalligan-USA 5 ай бұрын
Short answer, watch this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jK91aJhkqa-9e3U.html Long answer: Think about it in this way: If you are skiing down a hill you have high momentum. Even if you don't apply a push you will still move forward (closer to the finish line). But if you are skiing up a hill you have low momentum. If you don't apply a push you will come to a stop. XC Ski technique is all about putting yourself in the right body position to keep momentum high, despite the change in terrain.
