It's definitely not made up the street exists between Morand and Ducharme. And is one block off of the 6th concession
@MikeEvansWindsor5 күн бұрын
There is no doubt that it exists. However, the writer of the film would have no clue about it. Also, the Windsor "Barton" doesn't have the word "street" on the sign like this one. And the font is different, which bothered me slightly, but the filmmakers didn't care, or liked it.

You have a Barton street sign on your bench.what is the story behind it. I Lived on the corner of morand and Barton
@MikeEvansWindsor7 күн бұрын
That sign was a prop in a locally produced film I worked on called "Depraved Mind." I assumed that the name "Barton" was made up by the writers, but I'm not sure.

My uncle worked here for years. Never heard any stories about it. All I knew was that it was a nasty, shitty place.

Hi Michael, how very interesting. I have Wrens in my environment, my home, and property. I love the way they sing. In fact, little Jenny Wren is singing her heart out as I'm creating this message to you. They are fascinating birds. Love the gourd for a nest and what you did to it to clean it out and preserve it for another generation of the lovely little bird called the Wren. Thank you for sharing ❤️🐦⬛

My pleasure. I live their singing. I have discovered a Carolina Wren around my house and am hoping it will check out the wren house.

What the heck, Michael, how on earth did a sheep get there. It's a terrible spot for that poor animal to be living. Please enlighten me about the how and the why of this. Seems really strange to me. Thanks
@MikeEvansWindsor18 күн бұрын
There are two sheep living in the area. They have been there for over 1 month. A theory is that they fell off a truck.

Wish me luck. I gave my iron away, but I'm gonna try with flat iron for hair. I'm gonna sandwich the map between a couple of pieces of cardstock to protect it. I won't be able to get the central crease, but gonna sandwich it between two pieces of foamboard and put some books on it for a days.

Gosh. hard to believe it was 20 years ago. Feels like it was just a short while. I was there. I remember it taking me half hour or more to work my way through a wall of humanity to get to the washrooms, and then back again to my spot. Memorable day..(lol)

In 1978 I lived in South Windsor. I worked in the office at Hiram Walker's down on the drive. I made it to work in my 67 VW beetle. I stayed for a bit and then headed home because I was the only one that made it to work.

Mike, in regards to the date of the mystery picture. The picture was not taken in 1956. Most likely in 1955. Ontario licence plates in the 50's alternated yearly between white on black and black on white. Even years were black letters on white. The Plymouth with a plate is either 1955 or 1957. The other cars that have no plate on the front were Michigan cars, Michigan stopped using front plates from 1944-57. The motorcycle plate (if shown in colour) , blue would have been 1955, black,1957.

That little two-lane tunnel between Windsor and Detroit is cute. Smallest cross-river tunnel I have ever driven through. Those chimneys weren't from heavy industry in downtown Detroit. They were probably from a power plant. Even Manhattan Island had that at the time.
