If you are a guitarist and are with Fleetwood Mac, historically bad things will happen to you. Tread carefully. You will die, and go from Drugs, road life, stress, infidelity and eventually no man’s land.

Does anyone know whether Eric Clapton has ever commented on Peter Green's guitar playing? If he did, please share.

I read that Peter Green was a Huge Fan of Maxwell Street Jimmy Davis. I Played Drums for Jimmy who would often break strings, and still sound incredibly Soulful.

Funny you mention that. I have quite a few autographs from Blues Greats, Buddy Guy, Robert Junior Lockwood, John Mayall. My most precious is Maxwell Street Jimmy's. He was illiterate and signed with an "X". God Bless him.

@Zasu42 Note; His final years were spent at the Sullivan Chicago Public Housing Complex, at Madison and Ashland Avenue. The City Placed an Honorary Maxwell St. Jimmy Davis Boulevard Sign there; some time after His Passing. God bless Him, Indeed.

This is a really really good performance. Sounds a lot like Robert Johnson, but playing a Les Paul instead of a steel string acoustic. Peter Green could do anything he wanted with a guitar. Very clean sound. He was the most tasteful of the 60s and 70s guitarists; not a show-off at all.

Fantastic this ad hoc rendition was caught. At the end of the day though it's John Lee Hooker more or less note for note. All the British blues boom bands did fantastic covers back then. I love comparing them. Eg Spoonful - Cream and Ten Years After studio versions. Umpteen more range from the virtually identical to the totally opposite. All still brilliant today though.
