Awesome video! I actually got to (briefly) chase the doubleheader as well, but due to extreme traffic and crowds, I was only able to film at 3 spots.

Compared to the microphone audio, how loud was being there in person? Sounds like it was crazy. Good video.

I was on that train, it was awesome! My late father was with me that day, I’m happy he got to see both of those beauties running together.

7:13 That’s Monument Rd. 11:08 Just West of Mo’ Valley the UP Sioux City Sub heads North from California Junction (Cal Jct.) 11:33 That’s locomotive storage. 14:08 The CN Omaha Line meets the Waterloo and Cherokee Subs at Tara, IA, just West of Ft. Dodge, IA. There are only 2 trains a day (and I think only Weekdays) that run on this line. L571 and L572. L571 runs from Ft. Dodge to Denison and L572 runs from Council Bluffs to Denison. When both arrive the crews get out and swap trains. SD60s are the common power for these trains. CN has one other train that runs out of Council Bluffs, L592. L592 runs on UP and BNSF to get to the industries it serves before returning. It’s BNSF symbol is F-TRASH, I don’t know if it has a UP symbol. 1:02:54 Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion Soundtrack Jumpscare lol

It’s really unfortunate that this was the last full Omaha Railroad Days as of Summer 2023, there was a smaller Council Bluffs event, but nothing over in Omaha.

2:13 Missing CN and IAIS Also KCS via trackage rights 43:00 The CB&Q Omaha Station was just the CB&Q and CGW, the Webster St. Station (now demolished) had The Omaha Road and MoPac (iirc MoPac trains moved to Union Station at some point), while the rest were at the Union Station. 50:27 4014 did not get back onto UP tracks here, the interchange track it would have to be on for that to be possible that direction can’t fit it. If I remember correctly, they were trying to get it up to the Amtrak platform. Not sure about that though.

You missed one of the more interesting facets of this line. The P&L was named after a model railroad. A gentleman named Lou Jaquith had built a fictitious rail line in his basement in Lexington and handed over the rights and color scheme just to make the line happen.

The quality of this is equal to if not greater than actual TV shows about trains… and to think this is all done by one person! (I think) This is great!

Great Video! The only thing I have to nitpick about is the Northbound and Southbound directions, Northbound is Designated Westbound On The Big Sandy, and Southbound is Eastbound. The 23 Says it's North and South, and it's very confusing. CSX didn't bother to change the directions from the C&O And Clinchfield Days.

You need a pair of binoculars for viewing loco numbers from a distance. And a gimble for keeping your camera steady when you walk. The one thing I did not like was your use of a computer train simulator.

I really like your style of train chasing video's, the best I've ever watched on You Tube, very informative and I follow along on Google Earth in all your descriptive annotations. I hope you keep doing these videos as much as you can.

I'm very glad I got to see the OCS running as a Kentucky Derby earlier this year back in May. Seeing this colorful train was spectacular. Totally worth it.
