Don Juan wore many hats he had different names, he was fluid, he wasn't just one thing. Everyone who wrote about their experiences with him tell different accounts. He was taught by the Nagual Julian. I feel we are all messengers of the infinite. How much we receive and embody depends on our own efforts and emptiness and ability to harness energy. But the methods and techniques he passed on to Carlos and many of the women who wrote about him are priceless gems. Also, the truth is the truth! If the human energy field looks like a luminous egg with bristles, then all who are able to see it will see the same thing! I've never in my life heard of the healing breath Don Juan called recapitulation! Carlos didn't take that from anywhere or any book. That was passed down to him. Taisha Abelar also wrote about it extensively in her book and describes meeting Don Juan as John Michael Abelar. But honestly just because one Huichol Indian was found to have met Carlos but not taught him anything doesn't prove a thing! He obviously wasn't Don Juan. Don Juan wasn't married! He was celibate! As for Carlos? He fell. He must have let fame and money get the best of him. Once you lose energy, you lose perspective. It can be very destructive. Impeccability is not losing but harnessing spiritual energy, continuously. By having sex he lost his way. For Don Juan taught celibacy. As for Taisha Abelar and Florinda Grau, they most likely went back to their homes in Mexico, out of the public eye. They did not commit suicide!!!

Sex and money....every cult breaks down over these two things every time. I love psychedelics, avoid cults and gurus, trust nothing implicitly and have faith in the infinite love which all is....

El sinverguenza de Castaneda se aprovecho de la buena voluntad de varios sabedores y sabedoras del conocimiento ancestral, monto su personaje de Don Juan. Otro biopirata.

From my point of view, Jesus was really a great, true, superb Master, yes, indeed. Don Juan Matus was also a great and true Master and Castañeda made that knowledge accesible to all of us. The problem with Castañeda, in my opinion, is that he became corrupted by all the money and the power that he got. Thank you!

Richard De Mille, like his father, thinks that reality is fixed. It is not. Reality is malleable, it's not chiseled in stone, it's not a screen play. Reality is like a liquid tapestry. Reality is created and comes in many forms.

The most mind-altering concept from Carlos Castaneda is the fact that the earth is a living, breathing entity.

"A moment before, he had been a fumbling stupid Indian scratching his head, and then in an instant he had reversed the roles; I was the stupid one, and he was staring at me with an indescribable look that was not a look of arrogance, or defiance, or hatred, or contempt. His eyes were kind and clear and penetrating". (Castaneda, "Journey to Ixtlan")

I was a teen reading these books, fell hard for the first one. Like DeMille said, by the time of the third book I strongly suspected it was mostly BS. In my twenties I dated a girl who attended his college lectures, she was also ultimately convinced he was full of it. It's just a salve for the gullible, like transcendental meditation. If it requires dedication to a guru or a priest to become enlightened, it's 100% a fabrication.

"-Eso no se hacía en mi casa, es todo. -Tú has hecho cosas peores en tu casa (declaró como un juez desde el tribunal). Lo único que nunca hiciste en tu casa fue lustrar tu espíritu. Sus palabras, llenas de fuerza devastadora, resonaron en mi mente..." (Castaneda, "Viaje a Ixtlán"). ¿Imaginó, inventó, Carlos Castañeda estas conversaciones? A mí me parece que no, que claramente no. Saludos

I love him. He decided not to go that last step, which he clearly admitted in Journey to Ixlan. The last step to shamanism is to go with Don Matis into void, through the portal, which he chose not to do. Therefore, he could not become a true shaman. Don Matis was what is best termed as a revenant. The ghost of someone who has died a physical death yet can maintain a visage of himself like that of a real physical person.
