The presonus has a distinct balance sound, the mr4 is too bassy and the treble is low

Edifiers are close to JBL, they lack a bit in mids but since they cost 3x less it's actually impressive. With a bit of eq they can be even better.

IMO T5V are better because they have better midrange switch with low end. Overal has almost identical response range with original music. They are bit brighter but that could be corrected with Sonarworks, but the phisical crossover point is fixed so we take what we have....and on that comparission T7V are muffled in vocal range, that is THE MOST IMPORTANT when mixing all kind of vocal music. When switching from original music it tuned down with sound, midrange is hiding deep down the sceene. I have the same with my JBL LSR 308, when switching for Genelec 8030 I get kick in face with midrange - because 2-way speakers with 5"-6" woofer are the best tuned with driver and the bigger woofer is then it brakes that connection. Most systems has 3-way if they do 8" but that is higher price range. I will purchase T5V and set them with Sonarworks and maybe purchase additional subbas if needed although I use headphones to controll low end.

There is problem with mic placement method - we hear full trebles of A80 but not from KEF. Vertical axis is most important factor, because usually anything off more than 20° angle makes it trash. Ribbon tweeter on A80 is placed higher, also tweeter itself is higher. Kef have trebles inside mid/woofer on center, while mic placement is not adjusted. KEF LSX is far superior, just not recorded properly.

I’d say the genelecs are just a little bit more clear. although the difference is VERY small. Both pairs are incredible.

There's more mid high information on the R2850DB, but also becomes harsh and brittle with anything with any song with mid high thickness... then as new songs get played it become apparent it's simply pushing more information which is also then becoming more tin can sounding. In the first song, the 2000MK2's seem to recess the sound a little but as songs continue it seems it's just not pushing it's own limits and will actually be giving a much more natural sound. The first song was trap music and so is produced with a lot of space in the frequencies, so the R2850DB's sounded better with this song as it was not complicated to let the 3-way model shine over the drivers actual performance. Once other material got played, it became apparent their reproduction is quite brittle. In the field of mixing and mastering, it's very easy to think making a song sound brighter is good but it can become clear this is not the best move as it becomes brittle. The difference between these reminds me of these early lessons in mixing and mastering.

the presonus is a bit fuller, but the yamaha has that bit more midrange detail. both sound great, and not that far from each other. i think the eris is a bit more fun, but you need to be careful with the low end.

In the areas the 2000's reses the 3000's are harsher in what they are not losing and so the mid highs sound more compressed... so I would prefer the 2000's to allow me more dynamic in the mid highs even if it is a darker tone... that sits better with my ears
@TheSakuraGumiLTD7 күн бұрын
For monitoring I would prefer the 3000's and might tame a little the mid highs in correction... the highs have better sparkle
@TheSakuraGumiLTD7 күн бұрын
Maybe... not sure... might prefer the 2000's for monitoring also
@TheSakuraGumiLTD7 күн бұрын
The 3000's are a little bit like adding a smile face EQ that isn't quite tailored properly... these recording can only reveal tone differences so should only be taken as a example of the tone you prefer.... transients and other things can only be heard in glaring failings, otherwise you are only listening to the speakers or headphones you are listening to this on

I have heard both live one by one, I am relieved to see how the comments are in line with what I also observed.. KRK's seem to be good for playing and enjoying the song you built BUT not for producing that song.. HS8s better frequency range.

The HS8 remains a placcy, overly sterile and insipid sonic footprint. It’s perfect for most bedroom and typewriter-drum trap producers in that it accentuates those snapping transients and cliff edge EQ-ing. The Kali is almost perfectly priced for its place in the market and is surprisingly honest, defo one for broadcast and film mixes once you’ve trained your ear to its form

Mann Mann. Mülltonne auf Edifer rein. Mülltonne zu. Perfekt

I have these since 2021 & absolutely blown away at the range still. I had the Adam X’s and sold them..Just curious what distance apart do u find is the sweet spot?.. In their angled position! I have them about 1.2 meters apart (measured centre speaker cone to cone ) … about 17” inches from each side wall & 8” out from the back wall. The room is treated fairly well with super bass traps too. Tks for any help you can offer.

How is the mr4 vs 1855db? Which one is better?
@zezomat11 күн бұрын
HI, I follow your KZfaq channel. Can you give me a hand? I'll explain in brief... I listen to music in my room, untreated, with two 5'' monitor speakers (tannoy) with a focusrite sound card and an 8'' pressonus eris sub. I would like to change the monitors to 5'' but more beautiful and powerful in sound pressure. I have a total expense of around 700 euros. I'm not a producer, I don't mix, but I listen and use listening to study with the electric guitar. My listening is mainly metal and rock, (in fact I found a lot of metal examples) with 30% of other genres and subgenres. I forgot to mention that the speakers are attached to the wall, so the bass reflex must be positioned in front. Well, I tried and I hope I was clear. Thank you
