Thank you for posting the manual! I have been trying to locate some type of basic manual for a very similar machine - a Bel Air Deluxe Automatic Zigzag, Model 777. It is identical with the exception of not having the buttonholer.

Me compré una igual y se me aflojó la correa y ya no puedo coser 🧵 que hago para que funcione ?
@CrystalShaulis
@CrystalShaulis 6 ай бұрын
If the belt fell off you'll want to loosen the screw that mounts the motor to the machine -- this will allow you to slide the motor up to get the strap positioned back on. You can then tighten the belt it by lowering the motor and tightening the screw to hold it in place.

Beautiful looking and sounding machine! Great score! You can't beat a quality built vintage machine. It seems like any brand will do, because they were all built to last. I bought a Singer 401 a about 2 years ago for the same reason that you bought your Fleetwood. My late 90s machine couldn't handle multiple seam layers. I definitely should have kept that old late 50s Kenmore that I got rid of when I bought that new late 90s machine. I don't think my mom's ever forgiven me for getting rid of that either!

I’ve made a several little sketch pads like that with more simple stitching. I never thought of using end pages in this method of binding. I’ll have to add them next time.

Thanks for the manual. I just bought one in great condition. I was able to find the colored cams on eBay with the help of the images you scanned. It’s an excellent machine, seems very well made with nicely designed controls. “Ooh, very nice stitches” my mom said (40 yrs seamstress). Thank you so much for scanning and making the instruction manual available to download. You are a life saver. I got my 767B that looks just like yours at a garage sale and got it refurbished. I have used it a few times but forgot how to thread it. It is different from my other vintage Singer quilt machine.

I loved this! You made such an awesome video. I really appreciate it. I've had my "Broadway" turquoise and cream sewing machine - which is basically the same machine as yours, made in Japan. I had no idea all the things it could do. I was lucky and found two original accessory boxes for it (thanks to you for showing what they look like) one for the cams and one for the feet. Thank you again Crystal!

Where did you find the cams? My machine did not come with any. Thanks for any help you can give me..
@CrystalShaulis
@CrystalShaulis Жыл бұрын
I found these ones on Ebay -- they will come in a set of 20 so hopefully that will help narrow down your search results. Also note that the decorative stitch will be illustrated as flat on one end since the machine is left oriented, ex. no round circles, but rather a "hill shape" Hope that helps!

Lovely machine! for the bobbin winding spool, try a felt spool pad to reduce the friction. Also the machine will be much quieter and not jump around if installed in a cabinet. Love the decorative cam demo 1

Ah, the felt is such a good idea! Thanks for the tips. I'm happy to say that this baby now rests on a proper sewing desk and is no longer used on a plastic folding table. You're right -- it's so much quieter (and faster) now lol

Isn't that just the most beautiful thing ever! I love this era of sewing machine that looks like a '56 Chevy. Every single one of them that I picked up from sitting around for fifty years runs as well as the day it was put away. I'm watching this because I'm trying to figure out how interchangeable the cams are between various machines. I have a JCPenney that was made in Taiwan, which means it's from a little bit later in the 70s. I want to see what your cams look like to compare them to what my machine might take. I was hoping they were a little more interchangeable but these look very different from the JCPenney brand cams.

@CrystalShaulis Жыл бұрын
It's interesting you mention that! I had first accidentally purchased the wrong cams for this machine -- they fit in the compartment and spindle perfectly, but the stitch just didn't look right. That was before figuring out the decorative stitches on this machine would only face in one direction since its needle is left-oriented (ex. rounded humps rather than full circles). While down the rabbit hole, I watched one video that mentioned how the manufacturers would change cams on the machines without changing anything else, which is really weird but I'm sure they had their reasons lol Here is a link to an album with pics of the cams for this machine: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ev5ySOduFct8D4ilYlzrXBONEz1i4Ugt

I have a different Fleetwood model that I purchased from a thrift store. It came with a regular pressure foot. Are the accessories (feet) a long shank? Any ideas if any other sewing machine accessories (feet etc.) will work with this model? Thanks!
@CrystalShaulis
@CrystalShaulis Жыл бұрын
Hey there -- Yes! The presser feet are typically high shank (longer). That said, it can be tricky getting some presser feet for these models if your machine has a left oriented needle (can't be switched to middle or right positions despite being able to zig zag). These two machines in the video are left-oriented, so finding a straight stitch foot for them is like finding a needle in a haystack! Seems like it wouldn't matter, but I made the mistake of purchasing a high shank teflon foot only to find that the needle's placement could not clear the foot.

Thanks 5 million for offering the manual... I just got the very same machine but its Badged as premier instead of fleetwood and I was having trouble finding a manual... I need to find a bobbin case and now I know what it needs... I also didn't get the cams or ant attachments and I need a belt and bobbin tire so pat yourself on the back for providing me such help... and a great video of the machine in use 💙

You are such a lifesaver!!! I have a Gimbels version of this machine and have been searching FOREVER for information about it! We think it might've been left by the previous owners of our house, but it's in (seemingly) perfect condition, I just had no idea how to use it. I'm also relatively new to sewing, and trying to figure this out with my mom and I's limited knowledge was such a pain that I just gave up for several months. I've been trying all night to piece together knowledge from videos of other vintage sewing machines, so I'm so glad to have found your video AND a manual! My first go around I could only find one mention of this sewing machine anywhere, and the only manuals I could find were for a totally different (much older) Gimbels that I would've had to pay for. It's so good to see both a video of the machine AND a manual! Dream come true!

Yayy! Now you have the all the info and confidence to use your machine! I was worried mine would end up a decorative piece despite hours of research -- most of it was stumbling upon old forum threads by other people in the same boat asking the same questions and rarely ever getting an answer. After figuring everything out I had to make this video for other people on the same quest. Happy sewing!

Hi there stranger. You don't know me but I wanted to spread the good truth of Jesus Christ if you would like to take the time to stay and learn more. See God created the first of humankind and gave our first descendants dominion over the earth and things in it but we soon rebelled against God and so sin was born into the knowledge and actions of humankind. Thankfully enough we have the opportunity to rid ourselves of sin and reconcile with God the holy father through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the son of God. He died on the cross for our sins and took the punishment we were supposed to receive, defeating sin in the process and freeing whosoever seeks salvation in him.. giving unto them a new and beautiful life with him as a born again child of God. I would love to see each and every single person on this earth receive salvation and avoid eternal damnation so I spread the good news in hopes that I can get as many people to repent and receive Christ before his second coming. The kingdom of God is near. I pray that who ever reads this considers a life in Christ and repents from the wickedness of this world before it's too late. We don't have much time. Jesus loves you and so do I <3 Be blessed my loves<\3 JOHN 3:15 -21 MATTHEW 3:2 MARK 1:15 ❤❤❤
