Bro Italy is SOO racist ! I went to Milan and a a school trip for one week,(I’m French a lot of not most of my classmates are white, I’m black) when I tell you I wanted to go HOME. People looked at me weird, they shoulder bumped me, when we got to the hotel which was about 30 minutes from Milan, the employees didn’t help me with my luggage even tho they helped everyone else, there was a pub in the hotel that we had to go through to access the dinning room, a bunch men sat there and gave me dirty looks when we passed by. Growing up in France, I had personally never experienced racisme like this so I was really scared ! Even my friends who were all white (or white passing, a lot of them were Arabic and Muslim but white passing) they were shocked, they usually are oblivious when it comes to racism or anything regarding race because well… they’re white but this time, classmates I have never talked to and even teachers expressed their shock of how I was treated. After the trip, I was told by my history teacher that all the teachers of the school and the Principal had a meeting where they collectively decided to take out Italy of the list of places for school trips.

I am italian and i am very very sorry of what happened to you. I'm 15 and even I get cat called all the time by older people (40+) it's horrible. I noticed that the most racist people are also around that age. Just remember not everyone is like this. I'm very sorry you had to go through this.

being both visibly queer and chinese always makes me a target for harassment. i wish i could go out more, but the last time i went to home savers i got called a f*ggot by a passing car. i wasn't doing anything. i was literally walking to the store, but because of the way i look they decided that it was justified to call me a slur. this is the most clear cut case of homophobia but if i were to say that my country has a homophobia problem, i would be harassed again by people qho feel like they need to defend themselves. some people are more concerned about potentially being labelled as bigot than actually unlearning bigoted behaviours.
