So are you taking your female coontie cones off and not allowing any seed to mature? Just curious as I recall a post on PF ages ago where you were growing out a load of em.
@Natcoast
@Natcoast 3 күн бұрын
Yes, I am severely interrupting their reproductive cycle now. I did start a lot of them years ago and that was almost too successful! The Coontie is native, so I put a lot of those plants out in our woods, away from the house (and dogs). Great question! Thank you for commenting :)

I’m in citrus county , took over an old 3 gallon pot with an 7 year plant, it died but gave some petite orange, I now have 2 strong2nd season plants waist high, these came from flea market in lake Mary , brevard, and those came from St. John farmer market

Hey Jason, A seven year old Datil is amazing! My 2 year old plant is loaded with peppers right now. I think the farther south you go the more pepper plants become perennials, rather than annuals. Thanks for commenting!

@@Natcoast that plant gave me about four peppers one orange and three greens then pooped out, dunno why yet , but my grandpa got his starter from St. John’s market back in 76, he passed in 09 but dad and I , dad passed two years ago, we are avid lovers of this plant and we knew it was from St Augustine but I follow this like it answers my life questions

The fish was accidentally hooked in its very tough skin. What looks like the fish's flesh is a chunk of bait on the hook. This fish had a minor puncture to it's skin and was not seriously injured. I appreciate your concern for the fish.

You don't seem that educated. I'm driving a 4 cylinder 21 year old JEEP to my 20-acre tree farm to check on my young pines. Actually won a Carbon Sequestration Grant from the state to aid in the replanting after a timber harvest. My trees will be sucking carbon out of the atmosphere for decades to come. I also live in a ten acre hardwood forest that supports abundant wildlife and also sucks carbon out of the air. IF you can do the math, that's 30 acres of greenhouse gas fighting trees. And that old JEEP represents a lot of cars that I didn't buy over the years ... That's a lot of resources saved. Here's some advice: Don't criticize things you are ignorant of. Also: Feral hogs ARE an ecological disaster. I don't "think" that. I KNOW that thanks to scientific data.
