Great video, thanks ! That straight talk is good and what's needed, no beating about the bush. Some of these organizations treat you like crap, and the people doing it think they're entitled to it. It gets worse, the more often they get away with it. By speaking up, this can be stopped. It's all so absurd - you run a great business with compassion, respect and humility, not with maltreatment.

I have a disciplinary hearing on 11th about being on influence of drugs, because someone set up police on me on Sunday night and they were waiting for me next to my workplace and found cannabis in my system, even though I did smoke 19h before I was stopped. Then I was taken to police custody and blood sample was taken. Now Im waiting for results, but hearing is before results might come. They allegation is i was intoxicated by drugs. It is gross misconduct. What you guys think I could hear? There are not previous complains on my person during my 2 years carrer there. Im good and reliable person and never had any complains about my work performance. What guys you think I should except? Finger crossed

Thanks for this, it seems you uploaded out of a personal thing. Dads will be dads and always look after their children. However I'm due a hearing over theft, I did not steal anything intentionally. When covid hit our company started working home based so all our pedestals where redundant after the 2 years, facilities gave us a month to clear them. I was in one Friday and seen facilities emptying all pedestal contents into a bin for all who did not clear them before the deadline, I spoke to a friend who was emptying them and said "don't bin that" it was a hole punch and a speaker thingy ma jig, he said you can take anything out of the bin as its going anyway, so next day Saturday I went into the office as I'd left my bank card the day before, it was 6am, I was on way to look after my mum and had to nip in, my pass was declined so I had security let me in, anyway I took all contents of my draw home whilst I was there and cleared everything up and took a few things from the bin, following Monday I was working from home and had a call from HR saying I've been suspended on allegations of theft. This was October, I'm now in January due to it knocking me sideways with anxiety and shame so I was signed off, this no doubt makes me look guilty but I know and my peers know the truth, Hearing next week and I've requested all evidence gained and what exactly they feel I've taken, its been hell knowing this is over my shoulder as my wife has worked for the same company 20 years me 6, why on earth would I jeopardise my job and also why on earth would they believe I would steal from my place of work. Anyway I'm going to go to town on them next week, they know they made a mistake immediately as they are now changing it to a safety issue as I left the floor door open apparently. (Because I went the loo) I didn't was to bother security again to reopen the door. I am nervous as hell but I need to face it, Mrs still doesn't know, have daughter too. Thing is I'm innocent, however I did steal from a bin. Lesson learned.

Brilliant video......I needed to hear this....thank you. Im going through some stress at work disaplinary..... basically made up BS by manager. I thought I hate the job anyway & I dont need this stress & it does make me ultra stressed..... effects sleep everything. Its difficult to sit front of a boss who basically is ripping your character to bits painting a picture of how your to blame to justify them sacking you anyway. I would rather not hear that.......feels degrading & humiliation. Your video is great your addressing a all to common thing in work places. I dont talk much keep my head down and treat everyone with respect as long as its 2way thing. Always try to make friendships...... Some people try to be bully or horrible....maybe because they think im weak. Im just after a job 6am to 2pm head down & be paid. Forget about work until next day..... why do employers feel like they own you?!?

Thanks for the video. I've had an allegation made against me by a client and have been suspended for the past 3 months. I've been totally isolated by the process and had zero support. They've forbidden me from speaking to work friends and colleagues and I've been feeling close to a mental breakdown. I've been working 55 hours a week through the whole pandemic whilst many others in my office have been working remotely and not seen anyone face to face! My accuser is a known liar and drug user yet it feels like they're taking his word over mine. I'm not going to give up though! *I will fight this with every ounce of strength I can muster! Hearing your video has just given me a bit more incentive to fight my corner. I won't be bullied out of my career*

@Retrobeemer
@Retrobeemer 2 жыл бұрын
@@Hurtman2000 As there was no conclusive evidence either way they said that a 'breakdown in trust' and the subjective opinion of a manager I met once in passing, for a minute or so 2 years ago was enough! They also said colleagues (who contacted me!) was a breach of direct instruction that constituted gross misconduct. They lied about when that came to their attention and ignored the fact I told the investigating manager, who had said 'just be a bit careful about that' and failed to note any of it. They also said I'd had training (which I had not!) and called me a liar despite their own evidence showing I had been telling the truth. Thankfully, another organisation (in same client group) gave me a new job and have been really supportive. I'm taking a case of constructive dismissal to tribunal and am whistle blowing on the organisational failings of the company. I found 2 clients dead in my final 6 months and they didn't give me any support. The 2nd had laid undiscovered for 2 whole weeks and they only question I was asked was 'are you in tomorrow?'. Right now I cannot wait to go to tribunal and bring their failings into the public domain.
@iibemythh8970

My advice to anyone going thru an investigation and they're suspended, especially if you're forbidden to speaking to work friends and colleague (and feeling close to a mental breakdown), resign with immediate effect. If they reject your resignation, then resign with notice and just remain offsick for stress and low mood (get doctor notes from your GP) and testify to occupational health that you're unfit to attend formal proceedings due to excessive stress and emotional instability. Keep doing this until your notice period ends so that you can milk out as much sick pay from the company as possible until your notice period ends. Most likely tho they'll just let you resign with immediate effect and I'm pretty sure even if they reject your resignation, you could try to stop serving any company request and argue (in a tribunal if they sue you for breach of contractual notice period) that their jurisdiction ended with your resignation letter due to mental health conditions which made it impossible to work your notice along with a breakdown of relationship between yourself and the company due to the lack of support. More likely than not tho they'll just let you resign with immediate effect. That'll completely end the stress (and investigation), you won't be isolated anymore and you can contact your work friends without any restriction or jurisdiction from the company. If you want you can also take them to an employment tribunal (you must raise a grievance first, either while resigning raise the grievance, or raise a post employment grievance)@@Retrobeemer As for references since you've resigned, your record should be clean, most companies will just give a basic reference which is just your position in the company and your dates of employment. It's a great way to dodge disciplinary action

I’m a branch manager and have had too sack two people before. Both were instant dismissal one for Gross Misconduct (theft) and the other for failing a random Drug Test for Cannabis. There was no nip picking about evidence or unions. Both were out within an hour. HR and myself had them bang to rights. Written up a few warnings for staff too. But wouldn’t bully an employee if your a good worker and respect the establishment you’re all good

@@yourusernameeludesme8609 what happened was that I used to do evening shifts where I work,one day I had a new supervisor and a new assistant, during the afternoon I had to do someone else shift in another department, as well as mine, while two people in my department went home early, this left me extremely busy,in the evening, my brand new supervisor who hadn't proper training let my new assistant go home early cause their job was done and they had a bus to catch, I caught them going early, told them to get back, when they refused,I flew off the handle and swore at them, I now have a level 2 recorded warning for using offensive language towards that person.

In the industry I work in which is very rewarding and some times challenging I love the work and job but staff can be very clicky and like to get one up on each other by gossiping and back bitting, reporting each other for little, next to nothing, this can be so draining and demoralising and lately been thinking of leaving an industry that I have done for years and love. Maybe this is the push I need to leave toxic people.

Hi Collin, or anyone else out there. Last year I got a second job for extra income as referred to by a friend to apply for the company, which I can't mention. Today I was called by the manager and told that I have a disciplinary against me for something which I thought was silly and other staff members don't comply either but it just so happens that I was caught out. So to end the story I have been meaning to leave the company weeks ago but just wanted the extra income. Today I handed in my resignation letter via email to the manager including HR and another manager, it will probably amount to nothing but tbh I can't take that chance and can't be bothered with the BS. I think that it unfair and that the manager is just being spiteful, there was no need to take it there and could have just given me a verbal warning instead. As I have resigned with immediate effect today, can they still bother me with there BS or not, I'm hoping that they will just leave me alone now.

Record the meeting even if you are told you can’t. Keep it hidden. You can refer back to it if you need to pursue anything further. It will be proof of all that was said if you acquire help from anyone afterwards. It will prove and support that you are being truthful with whoever you have helping you afterwards. It will also prove if the employer is being truthful about what was said. Even if you aren’t allowed to record it everyone that helps you afterwards will know exactly what was said.
