What is the difference between this holster and the 6354RDSO?

6390RDSO comes with a mid-ride UBL attached, whereas the 6354RDSO comes with a QLS19 attached. It is the same holster body, but the mounting hardware changes therefore Safariland gives it a different part number to distinguish the difference.

The belt clip on the species Holsters’s sucks…it easily bends and will lose retention on the belt. That was my first IWB holster I bought to try out IWB carry, and while I liked the holster, that belt clip made it a no-go for me.

I would not go higher than Level 1. It looks enough - the gun won't fly out, the bad guy won't immediately drawn your gun from the holster. The faster you draw the better, why the hell would you want Level 3 or 4?

My safari land receiver plate has two little notches on both sides of the bottom that stop the forks from going down. Does anyone know why this is? And is it fine to remove them?

It appears you may have the receiver plate with the extra locking feature. These notches force you to "angle" the fork before it releases. You should be able to remove them and still have a working QLS
