5:45 They could literally sell the product with two swappable batteries and a charger like nowadays battery operated screwing machines, drills, angle grinders and such to use a fresh one when you charge the depleted one like we've been doing on construction sites for more than a decade... but noooooo... noooo... better to enclose the battery in it so if you want to do that you have to buy TWO of those headlamps -_- And of course if the battery is dead you almost all the time have to bin it and change the whole thing...
@according2dave
@according2dave 7 күн бұрын
I kind of prefer replaceable batteries. At least if it was dead, I could just pop in some new ones and continue what I was doing. This way, I have to wait for the battery to charge up. Thanks for watching.
@dupirechristophe7703
@dupirechristophe7703 6 күн бұрын
@@according2dave Uhehhh... this way you don't really have to wait for the battery to charge to continue using the device though, because you have TWO batteries (or devices) and you can pop the already charged one in, after you popped out the depleted one to put it to charge, so it's good again when you deplete the other one... it's like a two driver type thing, it just roll like teamwork. You can even buy enough rechargeable batteries to last the whole day so then you charged them when you stop working or eat or sleep or whatever... it's like preparing your lunch for work yourself instead of buying food near where your work. Plus, the more batteries (or same device with battery) you have for it, the more roll you have, and the less each is being used, therefore, they'll each been used less and have a longer life. I heard headlamps with LEDs and certain types of rechargeable batteries cause headaches though (on long use at work or something) when older device with alcaline and stuff non-rechargeables don't... so if THAT is true, a point could go to older tech (like it does a lot of time I'm afraid, people don't take the time to test new stuff enough and we lose reliable tech and techniques). And yes I know, buying more batteries is more expensive, that's for sure, but quite frankly if the battery charging time is equal or lower that the battery using time with two of those it's enough for most situations (if you have a socket nearby at least... I know it could be a pain ^^') having a indicator of charge is really important too. Have a good Sunday.

Dave, I have a question for you. I just bought this Giraffe hose reel in the 25' version. My issue is with the smell of the hose. It has a strong urine smell. I've had it open in my shop for about 5 days now and it still smell although not as strong as when I opened it. I'm wondering if your hose smelled like that too or is there just something wrong with my hose? If it did smell, how long did it take to stop smelling? It even makes my hands smell like that when I handle the hose. Jeff
@according2dave
@according2dave 25 күн бұрын
Wow! That is crazy. I haven’t had any kind of smell other than what you’d expect from a normal, rubber hose. I think something must have happened to yours somehow, somewhere. Have you contacted the seller? Wondering if some kind of cleaner that’s safe to use on that hose might help? Sorry you have to deal with that.
@jdrmyers
@jdrmyers 25 күн бұрын
@@according2dave Yes, it is crazy. I have emailed customer support and they replied to let it air out a few days. It's good to know your hose is okay. The weird thing is that I bought a spare hybrid hose from somewhere else and it also smells the same but just not as strong. I was wondering if it's just an issue with hybrid hoses. Good idea about a cleaner, I'll ask them about it.

I would be careful doing that. It might be difficult to control and could cause damage to the door. I would maybe experiment with some kind of sanding or grinding bit that would go into a drill. @daveborchard2019

You need to make sure that your house is very clean of any food particles. Also move the kitchen 13 gallon kitchen bag to the trash dumpster every day, don't wait until it's full. Don't use free thin plastic store bags. Use 13 gallon trash bags. You can build a fly trap out of a wood or PVC frame. The frame is about one cublic foot in size. Cover the frame with screen material on all sides, except the bottom. On the bottom, form the screen as an inverted cone, with the smallest part of the one very small in size. The small opening of the cone is located in the center of the volume of screened space. Then put bait under the fly trap, like bloody meat. Liver is cheap for bait. Put the bait in a small aluminum foil self formed tray with edges a couple inches high. The space between the bottom of the fly trap needs to be only about an inch above the ground or floor. Put the fly trap outside your house, away some distance from your house. The fly trap will catch thousands or tens of thousands of flies. The flies will go under the small gap of the fly trap, then will go to the bait. When the flies leave the bait, the natural tendency of files is to fly upward. They fly into the inverted screened cone. They buzz around the inverted screened cone. Then they walk up the screened cone through the small opening of the cone. Then they fly into the screened fly trap. Once inside the fly trap, they can't find the opening to get out of the fly trap. On rare occasions, a fly will discover the way out of the fly trap, finding the small hole in the inverted cone. But it's unnatural for them to walk downward out of the fly trap, so they walk back up the inverted cone, and get trapped again. After several days, there will be thousands of flies in the fly trap. You'll need to change the bait every day or two. You'll notice a drastic reduction of the population of flies in your area outside. It takes several days for the live flies to die that are inside of the fly trap. If you submerge in a larger container of water overnight, the fies will all be dead the next morning from drowning. I've never used that type of fly trap indoors, but it would probably work indoors. If you drastically reduce the population of flies outside of your house, there won't be flies getting into your house. You also need to close your doors right away, don't leave your doors or windows open for a long time period. Windows should have screens, to prevent flies from ever entering the house through the windows. After the fly trap is a year or several years old, you might need to throw it away and build a new fly trap, because the tens of thousands of dead flies start to smell pretty bad.
