Actually this was recorded during a live program. This cassette recording was made directly from a FM tuner.

@@4422ringo My point was that the cart insertion sound leaked over the air microphones. Today, to play that same music bed under the news, they would just click an icon on a screen, or, press a touch screen.

The 78 rpm modification also works on other direct drive turntables. For example, in an AKAI AP-D33 turntable, a 6.8 Kohm 1 / 2W resistor must be used for this modification.

My sincerest apologies for the awful audio quality. This was recorded on a 4 year old Samsung Galaxy S3 phone and there are no capabilities for audio level adjustments or auxiliary microphone.

I added a 56K resistor in parallel with R7 to achieve 78 RPM. It is switched in at 45 RPM mode to achieve 78 RPM. I do not know if this will work on other direct drive turntables.

+Músicas de vinil , My apologies for such a delayed reply. There was no change to the potentiometer. It is simply adding a resistor to the motor regulator board. The switch shown on the back of the turntable adds and removes the resistor. This is for the Technics SL-D2 only. I'm sure this can be done to any dual speed turntable with a DC motor.

+Robert Kirsch the DPDT switch that you use is 2 or 3 positions? if 3 is the: "on, on, on", or "on, off, on"?
