I keep checking back for more vids on this channel. I’m glad you’re still putting them out. I know you don’t usually film yourself working on it but when you do the axle swap can you film a lot of it and make a video of it. I’m new to the car modification world and I have pretty much the identical truck and I want to lower it and make it look sick like yours. Anyways that would be a huge help. Thank you

Hope to be able to do just that. I need to get a GoPro for filming rather than my phone. I am by no means a videographer so its a skill I need to learn.

noice if i may ask what Throttle cable did ya use? thanks
@gmccartney722 ай бұрын
Since the 05 truck had an electronic pedal, I swapped in a pedal from a 99-03 truck and used the stock throttle cable from a 96 Ram.

Give me your email address and I can send you a PDF of the template I made as well as a DXF file if you have access to a CAD program.

Where can I find door seals and wind seals and sweeps??

I can't say for sure but I was told a company named Rubber the Right Way might be able to make them.

If you are looking for a diesel...I have a 85 C700 with a 8.2L Detroit Diesel, has only 92k miles, it was a PG&E truck aged out of service, runs great, 5 speed manual. It also has the 22.5 10-lug wheels, which was key to me since I had a 72 C50 with widow makers and I had to trash that chassis (That cab is now on a dodge motorhome chassis). I want to change the drivetrain to a hybrid gas-electric, so don't need the diesel. Look forward to seeing your project. Ramp truck right?

I appreciate the offer but I decided to leave the y-block in it since it was a new rebuild with only a couple hundred miles on it. As for the bed, I think my plan is something similar to a Holmes 525 wrecker bed without the boom on it.

I seen where you mentioned they came off a FedEx truck. But I didn’t know if they would bolt right up or if the hubs had to be changed out. And are the rear wheels also off a FedEx truck? I really appreciate the info. I love how you have yours sitting. I took note of the leaf spring removal you informed someone else about. I’m going to replicate your truck’s stance it’s just like I want mine to be. Mine is a 1987 c800 but pretty sure the frames and stuff are the same.

Just a quick question on the new wheels. Did you just use the same drums with a 6 lug wheel on the front and what did you do with the rear wheels. Do they make a wheel that used the same hubs in the back 5 lug?? Thanks. I really want to change out my widow makers also.
@gmccartney725 ай бұрын
Mine was 6 lug already so all I did was bolt the rims on. I didn't have to change anything on the wheel ends. As for a 5 lug, those I think had a 5 on 8" pattern. Not sure about replacement wheels for them.

Nice... what's your plans for a bed?
@gmccartney726 ай бұрын
I'm leaning towards a 50-60's style wrecker bed without the boom, kind of like a step side.

Do you know just how many leafs you removed from the front and back? I like the height of this one and I'm looking at doing the same on mine.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 1960 model? WOW! I drove a 1965 C800…390 gas 5/2 speed. This was one sweet truck. Built as a road tractor, modified to pull mobile home & other trailers. It was such a wonderful & handy truck! I miss it so much! You have a truck that has so much potential! Wether you keep that engine or switch to a diesel, it will be one nice truck. The cabs are rather roomy & nice looking as well. You will enjoy this ride! 🥰🤩✌️
