quick question ive followed along your viideo however I've noticed you keep going to replay settings, and not standard graphic settings, replay mode hasalways been lighter to run than driving.. o my question is are your settings the same for driving? and with me having a 4080gpu and and ryzon 9 3950x would it be advisable for me to copy your settings when I also use same PC for streaming

They have raised the medium settings, with a 1080ti im pretty stumped on pushing higher, lost 50 fps due to there changes to make rain work. 😂

Got a random question if anyone has an answer thank you. When I adjust crowd detail the crowd visually looks the same whether in high or low detail even after a restart of PC or game. Is there something I'm missing? Thank you

Tommy do you have any experience with the new logitech pro wheel. I also have the Pedals. My question is the setting for steering ratio is 9to1 and with the wheel angle set at 900 the steering input seems to slow. When I bought this wheel I was running it on Xbox and the recommended wheel angle was 450. That feels to quick. I noticed watching your video that you aren't turning your wheel as much as I am. In Xbox box the 450 angle seemed to work at most tracks but the simulation in iracing is much more realistic so I am thinking this the steering angle could be different per track. I am at Charlotte in the 360 and I could use a little help.

24:50 - 1 pass of cube maps gives actual world reflections on the cars (try driving under a bridge) instead of generic ones, more don't do anything though.

Hi, when you did the software installation and you came to the driver installation portion. Did you leave the three boxes for the drivers checked and did you answer yes or no when it asked to remove associated components before the install. I'm only asking because i had trouble with my first wheel after software installation, and communicating this to Cammus is difficult due to the language barrier.

As I look in our racing discord server, this video was posted in our general chat by another league driver. I consider your info on all things IRacing Factz! Doesn’t work for me. Brings up only 1 filter called sharpening. But the slider is grayed. Can’t adjust it. Sometimes it says iracing not supported.

Hey Tommy - I changed my fov for the super formula and now I can’t check left or right. The correct fov also eliminates my side mirrors so not being able to see what’s going on around me is tough sleddings. I just see the black head brace. Any advice on this?

I was wondering does anyone use rear brake to turn dirt cars in iracing. IRL we use brake a ton to set cars ( the smaller the motor the more brake you use) for me so far this is not so in iracing, just wondering if it was just me or if no one uses rear brakes in iracing??

your content and the way you present is always great!! I am intrigued by MSAA samples. when I put it to 0x, the game becomes horrible for road tracks... jagged lines, etc. muuuuuuuuch worse than 8x or 4x. FPS was way better with 0x for sure, but the image was completely different. Not sure why for you the images are identical... I have an i9 13900k, RTX 4070super, 32GB ram, triple 2k monitors.

yes, you can definitely run a softer front arb, but the front springs and spring angle do determine how soft. I have found a 2" bar to be about as soft as I wanna go, but I have not tested all scenarios yet.

I came to your two videos about this topic since i getting mad with iRacing lately. I have a pretty strong PC, RTX 4080; everything worked great until some 5-6 weeks ago. All of a sudden and randomly, im having issues where, despite having strong FPS in the game, around 200+, im having some kind of background lag. Im not sure if im describing it well, but for example this week im driving at Watkins Glenn in Super Formula and each time I approach turn 5, you are in the turn, rotating car, the car is looking great, and quality, movement, fps, but the trees behind you see in you peripheral view are just lagging. I tried everything, going very low and very high with the settings and installing new drivers, and nothing helped. It is very random, I will have the same issue now, and later, it will work great. I just can not find any pattern or any settings I could turn off or on. It really drives me crazy.

Any advice on the fps drop in vr would be appreciated. Will be runnin g 90 fps and all of a sudden it's down around 10-15 fps. And it won't recover. Except backing out and going back in. Which sucks in officials

You put a lot of work into this, but that is one massive misunderstanding of what MSAA does. MSAA is sub-pixel sampling that improves the jaggedness of high contrast transitions in the image, it has nothing to do with shadows. The reason performance changes two fold from 8x to 4x is because the GPU is by definition doing almost half the work in rendering the image. 8x is still not a reasonable setting to be on, but 4x or 2x are absolutely a good choice especially if you are on a 1080p or 1440p display. You might not have noticed any change going from 8x to 0x since you had SMAA enabled in the other anti-aliasing section.

You are also misunderstanding the concept of bottlenecking. Graphics rendering has almost nothing to do with the CPU, you're not bottlenecking your CPU by running your graphics card harder. Your graphics card will do all the work that you throw at it until there is no more work to do; this means that if you set your graphics to low in iRacing, your GPU will continue to render frames well past the refresh rate of your monitor. This isn't inherently bad, but it is extra work that the GPU is doing that it doesn't need to be. That's what the FPS limiter and VSync settings are for in iRacing. They help you throttle the performance of your graphics card to prevent it from constantly overworking to render frames when it's not necessary. You absolutely can be bottlenecked by your CPU, but I guarantee that is not the case with a 13900K unless you're trying to hit a frame rate target of 240. A better term for what you are experiencing is having your frame rate be CPU limited. In other words, your frame rate will not go any higher because your CPU is working at 100% calculating the engine, physics, and all other iracing subsystems while the GPU sits idle because it has to wait for the CPU to be done before it can render the next frame to screen. There is no mysterious performance loss when using low graphical settings with a high end graphics card, if anything you're prolonging the life of your card by spinning the fan less and heat cycling the GPU die less excessively, but that is generally not a very strong concern.

I think you need a contact frame for your cpu or your custom water loop is terrible, I could run 5.6ghz all core on p cores on my 13900k with a 360mm aio and temps in iracing wouldn’t go above 70° c on my 14900k it runs 5.7ghz all core and 4.4 on the e-cores and still temps are below 70°

Capping FPS is GOOD if you can go well past the refresh rate of the screen. This will leave GPU resources free for load spikes and keeps latency lower. If the GPU is pegged at 100% and needs more you get lag and latency spikes. In my case, I have a 120hz screen. Limit it to that and iracing uses 60-80% of my 4080 depending on tracks and car count. Buttery smooth and responsive at all times.

The major major thing that bothers me is that the sponsors look blurry as heck on the further cars. It’s just so annoying to me in VR. It’s like not having your glasses on, but just for distant cars like 3 cars away.
