The Records had a good following here in Sweden and Europe back then, but never made it really big in the US, from what I hear. I can't understand why.. But perhaps Powerpop wasn't the "thing" over there at the time. But great band that deserved better.

I remember when I first got my new 99 black Ford lightning I thought it was the fastest thing going down the road. It ran a blistering 1380s. I always had a problems with it leaking antifreeze every other month I would had to replace something and blew it up twice with 150 shot of nitrous damn I missed that truck. I’m looking for 95 for lightning if anybody got one.🇺🇸💯🍻

amazing live version of one of the true top of the pops , doesn't seem like the video editor does this performance justice, way way way too many cuts and edits ,and although this tune had a great drum part , too much time spent on the drummer and too little on the killer riffs this song contains

@@jml-rj5re That whole record is fantastic. Every song is pure power pop candy, full of great riffs. Should have been way bigger than it was, and seems like these guys shoulda/coulda had a bigger career well into the '80s and beyond. I've always thought the vocals also are some of the best. That nasally bratty English sound/style, like the Gallagher boys, but minus the actual snide.

@@johnpelletier7641 The funny thing was that the old Stereo Review magazine identified Crashes as Record of the Month. Virgin simply didn't support the album. The Records toured America, (chronicled by the Evanston live album), but it didn't generate the following needed and Jude Cole left the group. Chris Whelan was an incredibly poor fit as lead vocalist on Music on Both Sides (there are some good songs ruined by Whelan and the production), which would have been better received with a 2nd lead singer (in addition to John Wicks) who blended with their power pop harmonies.

Back in the early 90's I was at a Ford show in Maryland. A lot of nice new and old Fords. Then halfway through the show this guy pulls in with a unrestored 65 Shelby GT350. The bottom front below the bumper the paint was wore away from rock chips. The car look like the owner used to race the car. That car stole the show.
