Amazing how these places start out being called a “cathedral” and twenty years later they are called a “dump”. Cleveland Stadium really was a dump by the end with broken wooden seats and smelling of stale beer, vomit and urine. I lived in Boston for years. All the facilities at the time were either dumps or quickly on their way. Fenway May be a jewel now but it was very outdated then. The Boston Garden has no air conditioning and was infested by rats that left holes in the walls. Foxborough Stadium was a glorified high school stadium built as a temporary venue while a permanent home was built. It lasted for thirty years as a “temporary” home for the Pats.
