I have been doing the same thing for the last 19 years. I used a medium soup can and squeezed one side to make the mouth for easier pouring. As a matter of fact, i made about 120 of them this week. My supplies ran low, therefore, I made a bunch for use at the cabin and camping.

Hello Tony, just curious if you were to cut a V groove in your bottom 2 logs near the end where you could roll your top logs into for bucking your logs to help prevent them from rolling on you. It may save you some grief. Just a thought. Cheers Woody!!!
@TCsOutdoors113 күн бұрын
Hey woody! Yes I think that’s a great idea, once I get everything split that’ll be on the list for sure. Those small logs don’t like to stay put when I’m cutting them I think that will help. Thanks for the idea I appreciate it! Take care my friend

No idea what ya mean 😂😂. At least you can make the fittings opposite each other. Pullin whole log to ya means good sharp chain. I got a 2nd muffler for mine. Be interesting to run it and see what difference a second hole in one makes. Not to nit pick but as Grumpy Farmer says ,its Independence Day, not july 4th. We don't say Merry December 25th.
@TCsOutdoors113 күн бұрын
The muffler mod will definitely make a difference but you’ll have to pull the limiters out of the carb so you can adjust. You’ll be able to lean it out quite a bit that’ll help in the power department also. There are a bunch of videos out there on how to do it.

@TCsOutdoors1 how is the quality of the g372? Would you buy another one? Did you use any oem husky parts or the the saw all holzfarma.
@TCsOutdoors116 күн бұрын
I purchased mine used and it’s been ported. It is all clone parts and it’s a little tough to get the carburetor tuned sometimes but other than that it’s been pretty good. I don’t think I would buy another, I have an Echo cs590 and cs620p and they are my go to saws.
@MotoLife54116 күн бұрын
@TCsOutdoors1 I actually really like the 590. Kind of a turd out of the box but with a few mods they rip pretty good for the price. I also like the fact they are very simplistic and easy to work on. I don't think you can find a better quality saw than echo for the money.

Hey Tony got to love the 12-22. I use the 7 way box wedge for the most part. Most of my logs are above 14 inches up to 40 inches in diameter. So the box wedge works best for me. I haven’t split for a long time due to working on the house. Still trying to get back in from the fire. We’re getting there. Keep going buddy.

Great video, just found your channel and was impressed about idea as to trying to find out how long it takes to split a face cord at normal speed then gauge your pricing. Several questions if I may, first you stated how much you paid for the wood from there could you calculate the cost of bucking, stacking, you have splitting and everything thur delivery to getting money in your pocket? I have seen tons of videos that show splitting times but my thought is to get a total cost of raw materials to adding labor, ware and tear on equipment, advertising, everything all the way to the point of sale for say 1 face core of wood. Reason for asking is I would like to sell some wood but like other peoples input as to a total on their operation, know it may vary from person to person and area to area but thought it might be a start, thank you very much and keep up the great videos. North Western Pa.

Once you get your time down then you'll be thinking about how much fuel you burn in saws, tractor, and splitter. All good things to consider. I try to make really good firewood...uniform length, minimum touches of the ground to keep it clean, split size no bigger than one handers, don't run out (which I do every year) and dry enough to burn. Then I searched for firewood in my area and made mine $20 higher than the most expensive guy on FBMP. It doesn't split itself and our time is valuable. Don't leave any money on the table.
@DanielAtkinsFirewood20 күн бұрын
I did the same thing with Craigslist here. I went 20 bucks under the top 3 guys, and I am just as busy as they are. Plus I have the oldest cleanest truck in the area that does firewood

Well done. It seems to me getting and holding onto enough inventory to make home heating wood worth it seems like a tall task especially in your area. It’s tough waiting for the payoff. But if you are thinking about it you should try. You will not lose money. The worst that can happen is your hourly rate is small. You love it do I think you should try it!!!!!
