Congratulations on your 100th episode... I love listening to the birth stories, my days of giving birth are long gone. However, I also have been following a surrogate pregnancy. I was hoping you guys could discuss this topic because it's a beautiful story. WeAreSamandDan who are the surrogate couple and That'ssojakenzy are the intended parents. Sam Matthews is getting close to delivering and has been talking about how her body reacts when coming home without a baby. It's truly a great beautiful story. Once again Congratulations on your 100th episode

I'm so happy for you, Teresa and Sarah. Happy 100. You can probably guess my favorite episode (Laura Lynne). A close second: Hilary Duff, who gave you both a run for your money and could be the Third Musketeer -- she's so funny (great episode). Third fave: THIS ONE! ❤

Congratulations. I think it’s wonderful for mothers today to have such a platform of community in their parenting journey. My oldest of 4 is 32 now and we didn’t have anything like this when I could have used it. Now having gone through all of these phases I listen to you and it fills my heart to know that this is available for my daughters. Thank you

Im about to be 60 in January. My four beautiful daughters are now 35,32,25, and 24 years old ❤ What an amazing journey it’s been! Unfortunately I lost my husband on May 29 unexpectedly while he was out of state on a month long work trip.. so I’m also on that journey. I’m so grateful for my daughters and I’m so thankful I’m here to continue to watch their stories unfold.

I let someone who was so like Mark ahead of me at the checkout, he was so nice, with two sweet kids -- and I thought, why doesn't MotherDaze get more views? ?! I mean parenting isn't an isolated activity. > 11K views on the LLJ podcast which is great, but why not 100K? I think part of the formula is *guest* -- Laura Lynne is a fabulous speaker. But part *has* to be content. Maybe I shouldn't care? It's exposure, it's out there, and you get the satisfaction of choosing the focus. I just watched Eric and Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo doing the ncis Rewatch podcast. Teeny tiny numbers on that podcast. Such a small world, Michael Weatherly is my brother, literally, he is a clone of my brother. Love 'em both, love 'em all, love all around! It's summer!❤

I have a friend who’s kids are named for places that have been important to them. They had a preterm baby who didn’t make it, her name was Figi (it’s also short for fighter girl because she fought so hard to survive). And their sons are Zurich, Israel, and Everest.

I like classic names, but also love when people use unique names. My kids are Nathan, Luke (Lucas), Kevin, and Lydia. I have been in love with the name Lydia since I saw Mrs Doubtfire as a kid, lol. It’s such a melodic name. They all have middle names after family. Our last name is long and always has to be spelled so I wanted first names that everyone knows how to spell. My two miscarriages I named after the month they would have been due, so we call them February and June.

The poop stories got me gagging laughing 🤣🤣🤣 I have the irritable bowel syndrom and I was so scared to take a shit at my now husband’s place when we first met that I use to take two imodium before seeing him and then it would be DAYS without me pooping.. i was so bloated and in so much pain that I had to woke him up in the middle of the night to go to the ER so they could "unclogg" me 😂 Ended up shitting myself in front of him trying to go to the bathroom 😂😂😂 One of our best memories hahahaha

I had to find my old blog so I can track down this story and share! Enjoy! Title: You did WHAT at the playground?!?! There are moments when someone tells you your child did something when you were away from them and you think yep, that's definitely my child. And then there are moments when you are wondering if your child's teacher thinks maybe you are another kid's parent because no way my kid did that, that doesn't even sound like something they would do! Having two kids in daycare I hear all kinds of things from their teachers. Sometimes I'm filled with pride at what I hear and other times I want to crawl in the nearest hole or at least take a step away from my child and say "Why is this strange kid calling me mom?"(totally.kidding....sort of.) Today was one of those moments. Nathan's teacher told me that he took his pants AND underwear off during recess and ran around half naked. He's almost 5! Not a toddler anymore. Why would he think that's okay? I gave him the "we'll talk about this later" look (you know that look, right?) and we left. Now I always give him a chance to tell his side of the story because many times there is a simple or somewhat reasonable explanation for his behavior. On the way home I ask him why he took his clothes off at daycare and he said they were in the way. What? In the way? He says "yeah, I had to poop and my clothes were in the way." Wait a minute, Nathan? Where did you poop? And he says... In the mulch. What?! The next few minutes I ask him some questions and put together the following story of what must have happened. He had to go potty when they were outside and he told his teacher. She took him in and he went. About 5-10 minutes later he asked to go potty again and she must have thought he just wanted to play in the restroom since he just went so she said no. Well, Nathan...having to go to the bathroom and knowing he didn't want to go in his pants must have found a semi private spot and did his business. Outside. In the mulch. So now I'm thinking I have to notify daycare of this for sanitary reasons! (enter horrific visuals running through my mind of other kids finding this poop the next day) Imagine that phone call "ummm, Hi, this is Nathan's mom, Amanda, just wanted to let you know he says he pooped in the playground today..." (of course I explained it little more :::ahem::: gracefully than that) After I tell the whole story to the poor girl who answered the phone she ended the phone call with a not-so-enthusiastic "I guess I better go look for that poop." I then talked to Nathan about appropriate times to be naked and how to convey to the teacher that he really has to go. Not long later the owner called me back and we talked and laughed about the situation. I guess they changed their policy now because of this that if a kid asks to go they will always take them even if they think the kid isn't serious. I wasn't really looking for a policy change. Just wanted to warn them there could be poop in the mulch. Oh, boy. He later informed me that it was the um….kind of poop you won’t easily find because it probably just seeped in the mulch- if you catch my drift. Enter: me making ANOTHER phone call that they won’t find the poop but definitely need to probably replace that area of mulch. Cringe….

I appreciate y’all talking about this issue. It’s very important and not addressed enough. But idk what insurance bubble Nadine is in-from personal experience in the two different east coast states I’ve lived in there are many high quality mental health care professionals that do take insurance. However, not for quality in-patient treatment programs. I can relate to the feeling that being healthy and cared for is only for the elite. While there is structural truth to it, (and it’s a really crappy feeling/system in general) I can’t let myself become so disempowered that I buy into that mentality, there are many avenues for healing.
