I'm right with you! I've really grown to love these pieces over the past few months. Quite tricky to master if you're so tonally oriented like I am! I'm a regular visiter to your Piano Piece Op. 1 No. 1 btw, discovering something new with every listen. Thanks for your art!

I am sure neither you nor Bartók intended that, but that repeating rhythm reminded me of Mr. Bean's precious contribution to Chariots of Fire. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ed2qnc-ep7LKooU.htmlfeature=shared&t=50

@@sjaakdouma That's why my hack for this age and onwards is to wear shoes that you can just slip in and out of (with the aid of a schoenlepel because this body's creakin') Some people have such an overabundance of talent that their life can't encompass it. 🖤 Makes me think of these lines again from a Mary Oliver poem that is, sadly, always apt: "Let me be urgent as a knife, then, / and remind you of Keats, / so single of purpose and thinking, for a while, / he had a lifetime."

@@sjaakdouma Heck yeah, slip-ins are the best! You're very welcome. I've been sharing her Fourth Sign of the Zodiac poem especially for years and years now because, in all its hopelessness, it's still so adamantly loving of nature and life. To use my own words from when she died a few years ago, "Her words meant everything".

@sjaakdouma
@sjaakdouma Ай бұрын
Thanks!

Dusk one evening on board ship, crossing the Indian Ocean under the luminous sky. Suddenly the sound of a Chopin waltz came bursting out from the main lounge. I had tried to play it for months without success. That's why I gave up the piano. There wasn't a breath of wind and the music pervaded the whole ship. I stood up as if to go and throw myself into the sea. Then I did weep because I had thought of my Chinese lover, and I was suddenly not sure that I hadn't been in love with him after all, with a love I hadn't been able to see because it had become lost in the tide of events, like water seeping through sand. Thanks to that music, spreading over the sea and filling the calmest night I have ever known, I could see my love for him for the first time. From "The lover " movie
