My 12 year dog was having chronic kidney disease (ckd), his treatment was also going on, I used to take him outside without leash, one day I saw him picking a small poop of another dog/ monkey, since then I was watching him down day by day. Is it has contributed towards his decline?

I loveee the underwater treadmill. Unfortunately there is no longer a facility close by. Now All I can do is put my dog in the pool and have her swim. I still feel underwater treadmill is much better though. Have had terrific results using it. GREAT video. What's your thoughts on shockwave therapy? It wasn't seen in this video.

Thank you so much for this informative video! This just happened to my dog and it's 1am and there's no 24/7 vet clinics around, it scared me so much. Looking for info I saw lots of full body shaking dogs and it wasnt like what just happened to my dog so I was getting even more nervous ;; she also acted like nothing was happening it was so confusing. I'm still taking her to the vet as soon as I find one open but at least this will allow me to be slightly more calm

Can I ask what it might mean if both sides of the head are losing muscle mass, could it be cancer on both sides of the nerve?

My cat was the same . I had to feed like you . Please dont worry , signs of appetite take around 7 to 12 days . He couldnt even kift his head up until day 8 and he staggered to his feet on day 12. Mine didnt want food either and it was a stuggle plus super stressful . Now on day 34 he is eating like a horse and scampering aound with very little wonkiness . My heart goes out to you and your kitty . It just takes a bit of time so have heart ❤️

My kitten was on GS 44 and we switched to EIDD because the injections were so difficult . He is 34 days into treatment and doing ever so well . He is 17 weeks old so he was very young when he got it . He was a day or 2 away from death only able to move his eyes , He's an absolute darling and already has a big appetite , loads of energy . He's still a little wonky but that doesn't bother him much . I am documenting his progress everyday . All I can say is please do an update as we 1 year on . My heart goes out to anyone who has lost their cat through FIP but now it's treatable so please don't be afraid to try . Neither of my kittens treatment are official but there are ways. Please don't despair

My dog is 14 years old and has similar symptoms. We were advised to get an MRI scan. If surgery is necessary, we are hesitant due to our dog’s age, and we were told that medication treatment might be needed. Do you think medication treatment would be effective?

My dog has generalised seizures. This is when the seizure is that of the first clip but he can foam, deficate and urinate during or just after. All I can do is to try to keep him cool (open windows/doors if in the house) crouch down behind him if there is space (incase i need to get away) and protect his head by putting my hand underneath and sometimes with a folded up towel if I can get to one to stop his head bashing the floor multiple times during this episode. I can control him better to stop him pushing himself into things if needs be. I never hold him down so he has the freedom to move how he needs to during but i will protect him from bashing into things if he moves or flips over. I talk to him in the calmest most gentle voice saying "its okay, its ok" to soothe him through the seizure (even though he is unconscious) and until he has fully come out of it. He is dazed, confused and wobbly when he gets up so is very important to keep a calm environment with slow gentle movements to do my best to not send him into another seizure as he is very nervous after the episode. Thats all anyone can really do when this happens i think. Some say to leave them and get away/ close them in a room to protect the kids and yourself which is fine too just make sure they cant further damage themselves if possible. Its not nice to see or have to live with and everytime it happens my stomach is in my mouth with worry. The seizure itself lasts around 30-45 seconds but this is the longest 30-45 seconds of my life everytime. I hope this can help at least one person until they get help from a vet! Love to you all ❤

Sorry to hear. It likely isn’t/wasn’t an FCE and was more likely another condition such as IVDD, inflammation or tumor. These conditions can start in one leg and get worse to affect both sides. FCE usually doesn’t progress or worsen.

Our lil "stinky" boy is 18 years old with rear leg paralysis and he's still going because we refuse to give up on him. We help him with nearly everything now, not just going to the bathroom, since as he gets even older, he's becoming less able to do the things he could still do with his front legs. We bring his water and food to him more often now, but as long as his pain levels are under control, we won't put him down. Our hope is that he is able to pass naturally at our home where he is comfortable and happy.

@ 2:36 , do you have the information on that dog? My terrier looks exactly like that and is acting the same exact way. I was wondering if I could find out what helped that doggy. I took mine to the vet and they ran bloodwork and everything came back clean and good so they prescribed muscle relaxers and those didn’t work so I thought it was bad case of anxiety so tried trazadone it won’t work so now my vet is trying to send me to the specialist to spend thousands when I’m wondering if all I need is a script of prednisone?

Took my dog to the vet bc he doesn't wanna put anything in his mouth. His teeth are a problem, but she said ivdd bc he didn't want her to move his head/neck, but at the same appointment he was twisting and turning his head/ neck to see everything and didn't yelp or act uncomfortable at all while I was holding him. He wanted to play and hump his bear when he got home. (I didn't let him.) Was it just adrenaline? Bc he's not acting hurt anywhere except his mouth. I hate to confine him if she's wrong, but I don't want him to get worse if I'm wrong.

This exact same thing happened to my cat. I told the vet that his tail was just dragging on the ground and he wasn't jumping. The vet thought it was a painful UTI or bladder infection. On a whim, they asked if I wanted to move forward with an xray and thank goodness I said yes. After the xray I took my cat to the emergency vet for an MRI. The vet said there was a chance it could be cancer. I was beside myself. After the MRI said no cancer we moved forward with surgery. I just picked my cat up yesterday and he is back to himself, wanting to hang out with me again and not hiding. He's pretty fragile right now and is supposed to be on cage rest for 4-6 weeks. I feel blessed that I could afford the surgery and pray that he makes a full recovery and lives a long healthy life.

I think symptoms come back because often changes aren’t make in the dogs life. Jumping off furniture should always be a no no, and I feel stairs should be as well. I also think IVDD dogs should be on supplements for the rest of their lives and get established with an animal chiropractor.

I had a wonderful dog and I believe that he might have had a brain tumor. I didn't know how to help him at the time, but here are his symptoms: - Back Legs shaking - Several tumors growths on his body - Several seizures - Walking with crossed legs after seizures - Muscle loss in his back legs What am I supposed to do when this happens? Like the vet just put him on some anti seizure medicine, but it didn't do anything. I'm guessing he would need brain surgery to remove the tumor. Who do I go to and how much does this typically cost?

@@Jacob-og9pz he got less wobbly but the strength isn't coming back as wed like and he can't use his front paws to hold stuff like treats anymore but he did it twice a few days ago so waiting another week and then going back for a evaluation at the vets to see if they think it's going to get better or if that's how he'd stay and if that's how he'd stay wed have to put him to sleep cause that's no quality of life he's a shollie and he's 1 tons of energy and used to being out 4 to 5 hours daily and now he's not able to walk outside cause he falls over alot and we don't want to risk him breaking his legs or causing more damage while he's trying to recover

My dog was diagnosed with IVDD. His back legs completely paralyzed! The doctor said dogs in his situation usually do not recover without surgery. I was quoted 11,000 for surgery including MRI and all that stuff. I was not provided with any other option even though I explained that I could not afford surgery. I was devastated and was preparing to put my dog down because I didn’t want him to suffer with no quality of life. Meanwhile I was doing some research on my own. My dog shocked us and was walking in 3 days. Then our research showed that crate rest can be quite successful! We continued to crate him allowing him to come out on a short leash for short walks and food and water breaks, and cuddles time. Everyday he got stronger! We also started laser therapy and my dog sees a animal chiropractor to make sure he continues to heal well and to reduce recurrence. Unfortunately guys you have many doctors who push surgery for the money. They are not thinking about all these people who are putting their dogs down and didn’t really have to. It’s sad!! Try crate rest first and you will know if you see improvement! Laser therapy is much cheaper and works well with the crate rest. Have a legitimate animal chiropractor work with your dog. When your dog gets well, cut out the jumping off furniture period!! They shouldn’t be doing that ever!! I have even put a doggie gate so my dog doesn’t run crazy up and down the stairs. When you lift your dog support the whole spine so don’t let their heiny hang down. Give your dogs supplements for joint, muscle and neurological health. Amazon has these supplements all in one cheap! My dog has fully recovered! I wish more people knew about animal chiropractors. If nothing else these doctors need to tell patients to at least try crate rest! It can have very good results!!!

Little ozzie has ivdd, he just had surgery and I’m in pain looking at him. He used to be the post playful dog ever, jumping on beds, and furniture. he will no longer be able to do this. The scar is so big. I was just on vacation. No one warned me that at home my little baby was suffering for a week straight. I pray he won’t have complete paralysis, either way, he will never be able to be crazy, and playful ever again.
