We just finished first grade using CLE and looking forward to second grade. My little girl loved it and I did as well. I love that it’s all in one, open and go workbooks. I’ve seen several other homeschooling moms comment how advanced it is too. So I feel like she’s getting a great education. 😊

Which curriculum have you stuck with that has felt the most comprehensive? I've used TGTB and Learning Language Arts Through Literature with my 3rd grader. And both feel watered down and lacking. I need more meat for my child while also being teachable for me. She's really strong in math and reading. She loves books but lacks in sentence and story structure. I feel so overwhelmed having to choose yet another curriculum.

This is exactly what I needed to see. I like bright and colorful but I have a 9 year old who is begging for something black and white and simple... this could definitely be it.

Honestly, I think this is an awesome way to knock out Science while checking off nonfiction reading comprehension! That goes for Social Studies too 😊

A.C.E. Pace is a lot of reading! Are kids still expected to read 20-30 mns a day after all this reading? I feel like a couple of these would be good for my daughter who is a reluctant reader and that way we can get her reading and comprehension in as well.

Mrs. Rhoades is a genius. She has now made videos to teach each lesson in all 6 levels. It has worked wonders for my non-native speakers and native speakers alike.

We are looking into that.

I would recommend opening a stall in a local marketplace as doing it on the side of the road is a bit unsafe and you would'nt get as many sales as you would in a market!! The crochet is so cute though!

Coming from CLE math 1, I feel like my guy would have to skip the first 40 lessons of the book. How does it compare to CLE math 2?
@lifewithashleynoah98934 ай бұрын
We preferred Cle math 2 to Abeka because of the way it teaches and the teachers guide.
@bookinggrooves4 ай бұрын
where did you find the reader books? Mine came with just 3 !

I order from bju press consultant. It’s called journey forth books.

Ahhhh thank you sooo much I went down so many rabbit holes of curriculums and this is exactly what I am looking for! We went with apologia, CLE, horizons, Saxon, alpha , math mammoth, math with confidence. And even Singapore. this seems way better and this is spiral learning :) that’s why u love it still bc even CLE is spiral and and abeka but those are way faster along with horizon and manmonth soo fast pasted and advanced (: my girl did great with them but just not our cup of tea bc it’s so fast. This one seem great just slower which we like! So question What work books do I need though for the year? Their website seems little tricky as there so many other books for k with bju press for math. Do I just get the math worktext? Also I have a homeworksprecept and my consultant is like 5 mins away, but I never never jumped in and signup. I just usually go to my homeschool go group fb pages and they sissy sell / swap things out all the time ! Or I try mercari and fb groups

I would say rod and staff goes very deep into details like mastery style. They are both good. It’s hard to choose each year what to do.

So, I am curious as to what you use these days.
@burkhousehold88805 ай бұрын
So Abeka does teach you, but the teaching portion is found in the teacher manual. CLE has teaching in the manual, but it is also in the student's workbook. So, basicially, a child could do CLE independently because the teaching is also in the child's book. Of course that would depend on your child's maturity. I usually go through the short lessons as presented in the CLE manual and then have my kids do their lessons independently. However, there are days when I have a lot going on, so they just do their school on their own without me presenting lessons, since their actual workbook has the lesson within it. Both curriculums are great. They are solid, but I think CLE is way less teacher intensive and gives a parent the flexibility of having their children do lessons on their own. I also think that although CLE is just as advanced as Abeka, it introduces things in a gentler way.

Thanks for sharing. I absolutely love Rod & Staff English. We have used 2,3,4 and almost finished 5. I am about to order 6 for the fall. I always buy 3 worksheet pamphlets and 3 tests to use for the next kid and have one as a spare so I always have a complete set for each level. It’s been a wonderful effective program. Thanks so much for sharing.
