Here are the three fundamental books on Ayurveda. These ate benchmarks. Every other book is direct or indirect derivatives of these books- 1) Charaka Samhita 2) Susruta Samhita 3 ) Ashtanga Hridayam by Bagvatta. These are thousands of years old and in sanskrit. There are english translations available.

Yes, I'm very familiar with this shastra. However, the texts are fairly clinical and not essential reading for the average person. They're more appropriate for those formally studying ayurveda, as in a BAMS degree. Thanks for your comment!

There is a coin section in the middle which I use, and notes fit easily when folded softly in half :) Of course you won't fit a huge amount of each, but perhaps you could take what you need each day and leave the rest at home?

Wow. Wonderful how you trusted your body all the way. This is exactly the birth story, I was looking for 😍 I had quick easy labor with my first one that left me very much empowered, but birthing at the hospital felt like I'm being an eye of the hurricane with so much hassle around 😵‍💫 Unfortunately home birth / midwifery care is hardly available here where I live in India, so going unassisted would be an option to consider.. Thank you for sharing your story!! :)

I travel to India for study every year. I'm a yoga teacher, practitioner of Ayurveda, and a student of Odissi dance from Odiya. Hence my love for India... this is how I bring India home with me. In classical Indian dance, we honour Nataraj as Lord Of Dance with regular puja.

Everything pictured is what I did get for each day, but I'd did the challenge a month prior to making the video with a community of folks. Not to mention I was about to give birth to our 2nd child, so life was busy... I guess given that this is my youtube channel, I did what suited me best when I came time to putting the content into a video. Each photo shown in this video was taken each day over 30 days. Then I just put them together here. Made sense to take the simplest path... the most minimalist work ;)

On my hubbys account....watched your video at 40 + 5, just playing the waiting game for bubs to make an appearance. We are wanting to have another water birth as will my son as it all went very well at the midwife run birthing centre in Mareeba QLD. This time we are in NZ also intending to birth at a midwife run birthing centre here. I just wanted to say what a beautiful women you are! So brave and trusting in yourself to just go with it without a midwife present, amazing! A beautiful courageous story, you have a very calming energy about you, so thank you for sharing. I agree that there is this fear and powerless vibe around pregnancy especially in the hospital environment. A lot of fear for the pain ect. I had gas with my first, but this time I am aiming to get through without. I watched 'The business of being born' in my first pregnancy and wow that empowered me so much, I recommend to everyone. Having trust and confidence in what our bodies are litterally made to do is so important.

Thank you for sharing your experience thus far, always so nice to connect with other women who are valuing birth as innate and empowering! NZ has a great reputation for their midwifery care :) Very likely your second time around will be fast, and no time for anything but to be present with yourself, the breath, and all the sensations. You've got this! You were made for it. And yes, that doco is a gem. I watched it during my first pregnancy too. Rooting for you, and I hope you have the most epic support team on the day. Trust, trust, trust (yourself). Thank you for your kind words. Sending all the love to you and your growing bump!

Little correction* Chhau is a different art form. But the male version of Odissi is called Goti Pua. 👍👍
@amylandry
@amylandry 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments and for watching, Rider :) Goti Pua predates Odissi. It was for young boys only (children), and much of Odissi dance is influenced by it. Odissi is for male dancers equally as it is for females, and for all ages. And yes, Chhau and Goti Pua are different art forms - both predate Odissi in the form we know it today and have had strong influence on the beauty fo Odissi dance!
