I'm fabricating a couple from sheet metal and rbg's. Do you think color plays any part in attraction? I'm trapping public land so I was thinking of painting earth tones but not sure if they will see it. I'm new to otters by the way.

Its a renewable resource. There are management practice's in place, license requirements, season dates, ect ect, its not just a wild west free for all as you are probably imagining. Nature is cruel in and of itself. And no one is making you do it. I'm not sure why you are searching out this content or why you clicked on it if it offends you.

I was deep in the woods when i looked down and saw hundreds on me. I gathered up a bunch of dry leaves stood in the middle and lit the leave on fire. The flash fire gets em pretty easy. Using a lighter skim it over them with the flame will kill em too.

Great idea Some guys move the trap springs to the middle of the slot so the trap doesn't throw itself down the body of the otter or out of the tube if a mink sets it off. Might save you a few bucks on building if you drill a 3/8" hole through the top of your stabilizer for anchoring the trap instead of using an eye bolt?

Why would you call coyotes to be hunted? If they're actively destroying or killing property, I totally understand and agree. But if they're minding their own business, why kill them? Predators are the most important animals for the environment, so this is just unnecessary. Edit: I now see the comment replies saying that his animals were getting attacked. I suppose it's understandable, though I still prefer taking non-lethal methods like better fencing or, old reliable, the donkey.

Excellent trap you've constructed, well done! I watched your build video before this one and my question is, you have a bait hook for holding a fish and unless I missed it I didn't see you put one on your hook for this particular set location. When do you use your bait hook?
@TripleBeamOutdoors
@TripleBeamOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Thank you we appreciate the support! To answer your question we usually use the bait hook in bigger pools of water or more of a “hunting grounds for the otter” in the videos case we set it more of a blind set in the smaller pock of water so we didn’t bait it just in case the water gets low a coon or something out of season won’t get in it. A lot of times we will hang a silver fishing lure with no hooks to mimic a fish easier than changing dead bait out! Let us know if you have any more questions thank you!

We’ve set most like blind sets where they are just below the water and set some in 4+ foot holes of water along a well traveled banks or feeding areas.
