Dean is not torts. Columbus is coming off this Babcock situation where tough love and old school style coaching didn’t seem to work. So it seems like they are now trying the opposite and going for a guy like Dean who is that players type coach. I wouldn’t go with Dean personally. I’d rather hire Todd Mclellan or Darryl Sutter (don’t think he even wants to coach tho idk.) But hey, i’m not a GM. Just some guy so idk.

I couldn’t agree more with Denny, we need to see what’s behind the curtain with the prospects. The best trades are those not made, I would still rather have Rossi / Boldy than Eichel who is one knock away from being done. Rossi is just coming into his own, WHY the eagerness to trade him. Where I disagree with the narrative is I think the Wild will be formidable and battling for a 3rd - 4th spot / Wildcard. Concerning the off wing, the hardest part of playing the off wing is getting the puck off the boards with a defenseman barring down on you. The shooting angle is better on the O zone of course, but many players, even with high skill have a hard time with the ring around break out. Lastly, the pipeline is filled with talent, time to turn them loose and make some moves as the season progresses. Hold tight until the cards play out in the season however, desperation creates higher value. 👍👍
@patbryant6823 күн бұрын
Jesse Pierce has said numerous times over the past season that Freddy is an enormous liability (length of contract) and the only contract which is worse, per her, is Marcus. I suspect she was unserious about Rossi/Gaudreau, even if she tried to find a reason to trade Rossi - remember she's a reporter and so they try to come up with story ideas.

Lots of talk on Rossi. I've been high on him since we drafted him. The issue that has always bothered me is that the coaching staff never played him in a top line role. Yes he has played there at times. But he has also spent a lot of time with guys who can't score or feed him. I'm also considering if he can overtake Ek. A 2nd liner's role is a bit different than the 1st liner. Ek fits the 2nd line role perfectly and Rossi does not. Rossi fits a potential 1st line role but if he can't put up points and cause havoc like Ek can, do we move Rossi for a guy that more fits that 2nd line role. Thats my only inner debate. But I'm not moving Rossi without a massive return. Even if I got that return I'm not sold on moving him. Something tells me there is more to his game. I think Zuccy and JoJo need to move and play Ohgren and Hedit there. I also wouldn't rush Zeev. I know he oozes skill but he still needs to fill out and if it takes a year and a half, I'm ok waiting. Let Middleton and Brodin play the top 4 pairing role. Allow him to come in and excel from the get go like Brock did. It all depends on how this year goes. I do agree with you guys on Gus. Lets hold his rights and get a return if he does look good and Wallstedt is just a stud. I hope the Wild take the same path as Dallas did with Otter. He turned out to be incredible. Just be patient.

Also, if you guys need more explanation on my theory of having 11 of 12 forwards all lefties will be exploited and defeated with EASE....I'll be happy to further explain to those that may still be confused about it. I'm not condemning a line that all shoot the same way, but just because they are pros, does not mean you can slot a winger on either side, at any time, on any line,no problem...and expect things will be all rainbows and balloons. It simply DOES NOT work like that, and details like this matter when constructing lines. Powerplay and PK doesn't really apply here, I'm talkin 5 on 5 match-ups, and players who are forced to mainly play on their weak side will be absolutely REKT. Just wait haha. In fact, the only player on our forward line-up that has effectively done this is Zuccy, as he has already played RW as a left-handed shot for the majority of his pro career. Your positioning has to be 100% different on the ice for EVERY play, and it can take literal YEARS for players that are less skilled than Lizard is to adjust to something like that. I mean, good luck putting Moose on a line as RWer, he NEVER PLAYS RW, it's just a fact. The only time he might is during a D-ZONE face-off where there's a set play to clear the puck out of the zone. Something specialized like this applies, surely...but then quickly goes back to LW by either subbing him for a different player, or throwing out an entirely different line. Ya'll can also be CERTAIN I will point this out in every game where it will in-fact be exploited, especially the obvious ones like turnover break-away goals, ugly stuff like that.

Lastly, I go back and listen, sometimes 2 or 3 times, to these episodes, if that isn't loyalty, I dunno what is...because it matters to this team, and it matters to me. The truth can hurt though, so hold onto your butts.....because I won't sugarcoat anything. I'll try and walk the line a little better tho, there's ways to convey a message, and ways NOT to. The Wild are a part of the entire market’s losing track record. While they haven’t broken hearts like the Vikings have, their lack of even getting to the Cup once is beyond unfathomable. With a market that produces a high percentage of NHL players, it is truly sad they haven’t hoisted the Cup for a diehard fan base who shows up nightly. The 3 goalie shuffle will not work long term, Wallstedt showed he’s close or ready now, let him play. If that involves moving Gusty, wait until the value skyrockets, injuries, poor play with a top contender etc. and grab a prospect or high pick or both. Fun listen 👍!
