Why is this video about Dundee accompanied by Indian music? It's a bit strange 😕

3.42 The steps just to the right of Edward 7th statue went to Gents public toilets that are under the statue while steps leading away led down to Women’s public toilets under the first few metres of Union Terrace pavement

2.59 I think the Queen Victoria statue now stands in the main entrance of the Town House. The artist that was commissioned to make the statue made a plaster sample that now sits in the reception of the Music Hall and a similar statue stands at the Queens Road roundabout looking towards Royal Deeside.

Any notice on the left side of photo the WW1 tank perched on Broad Hill?

At 7.39 "GPO" doesn't stand for "Government Printing Office". It means "General Post Office".

The aerial shot of Manly 1933-39 (at 0.15) was fairly much the same as when I lived there in the 1960s. PS the captions are there - but in awkward grey on black.

Correction: @2:45 there is a picture of the Queenstown Railway station. This is infact Queenstown Komani, South Africa. Rail never made it to Queenstown, Central Otago NZ due to chellenging terrain. Because of this, the Earnslaw completed the Invercargill to Kingston line and would carry passengers from Kingston across the lake to Queenstown.

The Union Depot has been around since the early 1900s? It's unfortunate the city leaders just hope to trash all the history in place for "entertainment venues". Maybe they should think of a way to use the historical areas as a way to bring in tourism.

where are all the people? where are all the cars?...horse and buggy...and we are expected to believe all those magnificent buildings with clock towers and paved roads were all built before electricity was supposedly invented? before the power tools? ...we have been led down the garden path....they had a reset....the buildings were "founded"...meaning found, not built ....thank you for the photos, confirmed everything

There's not much point showing old photos without noting where and when they're from. It's not always easy to recognise places that may have changed dramatically over the years.
@petergraves20859 күн бұрын
There are captions on all of them - just in dark grey against black backgrounds. Rather difficult to see.

A bit of information for each image so one can identify places and year would have been better. Music is painful.

The photo at 21.33 is not in Sydney NSW. It is during the “Siege of Sydney Street” in Houndsditch, London on Jan 3rd 1911. The man at the head of the onlookers in the top hat is the then Home Secretary Winston Churchill
