Soil sample should be your first priority. Herbicides work best when plants are actively growing quick takes warmer soil temps. Make sure the herbicide you’re using doesn’t have any residual properties in it that could prevent germination of new crops. You should be fine since you’re not planting super soon tho.

Also, you’re going to till it, spraying the round up is just an extra unnecessary step. You’re going to bring more weed seeds to the surface after tilling and be back to where you started. Starting a new plot, a light tilling is ok but save your herbicide for after you till and let it sit for 2 weeks and then spray.

PH test it. Lime it and plant clover and turnips for the first couple of years. The turnips will rot and make the soil rich for the 3rd or 4th year when you plant some winters greens and clover.

Wow, that's some story about your phone. That's my nightmare--losing my phone while I'm hiking. While on the trail I check to make sure it's still there way too often, lol! And thanks much for the shout out, appreciate it!

I liked this video -- it packed in lots of information and still moved quickly . . . "Pics from the trail cam" -- really cool, especially the bears . . .
