Just something to ad. At the end he didnt came back, because he got a hang of Shroedingers Powers - it was more of the fact, that he could see every Soul he ever consumed.. which preventet him from properly observing Shroedinger (since they where far to many), which left to him going into a state of "not beeing there". He had to remove every soul BUT Shroedingers, so he could use his power and properly observe him and himself again.

Well if you read the manga you will think is AoT. To bad the anime din't do justice. Maybe in future will see a remake but i higly doubt it

I'd ask for a "Claymore: Sisterhood", but with the current state of the anime industry, short of Madhouse, I'd trust no other studio not to butcher it. Also, despite the original anime being unfinished, ain't nothing beating the OST of that show. If they're not reusing it, I ain't watching.

I still remember coming across Vampire Hunter D, it was part of my introduction to Anime/Manga back in the 80s due to a Video store. A time when Blockbusters first came forth into business. But this small video store down the street had all kinds of Anime. Before Blockbusters did. It had all the classic anime. Akira, Fist of The Northstar, GenoCyber, Vampire Hunter D, etc. Vampire Hunter D is one of my favorites, even still to this day. I own Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust on Blu-ray. 80s anime imho is far better than what is made now. Only a select few I care to even watch.

So the reason that the open wound from the operation that makes them Claymores never heals is stated in the story. It's that wounds from before they get implanted with youma aren't healed, and that since they technically get powers during the surgery that is the state their bodies heal back to, sliced open down the middle.
