I like the idea! Just for fun, I made a similar clock circuit and noticed that the remote must be within a few inches of the photodiode in order to trigger. Did you notice the same? Perhaps a single transistor common emitter amplifier is a bit on the weak side.

Hello and thank you for your video you really helped me, can i ask please the think you did with the pencil is it able to do for the aftertouch strip? And if yes is it safe to uncover this thing it has on the aftertouch strip? I did the test on the d50 and aftertouch reach max 80 velocity... Thank you kindly!
@TommyHelgevold
@TommyHelgevold Жыл бұрын
No, the aftertouch strip is a pressure sensitive strip that is entirely contained inside plastic. However, if the contacts have become lose, just use some contact spray for the end of the strip to the connectior at the end, be careful and clean it with a soft microcloth, it's very brittle. Fortunately the strip should be fairly standard and easy to get.

Thank you so much for this video. I bought a D50 last week and one of the keys dropped and stayed like that. I figured it was probably a spring or something. I am so happy to have learned how to fix it myself with your help showing how to remove the keybed. A very enjoyable experience.

Thanks for the Video; it was very helpful. My Rodgers C-100 just developed a reproducible issue. In the left hand (bass clef), My wife, the musician in the family, will get a bizarre loud sound if she plays a (B, Em, another B chord) and adds any combination of Ab, G, or Gb notes. It only happens with those combinations. I think it's a failing IC board, but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has run into this problem. Thanks!

Do Not use toilet paper, as it has fibers in it that would stick to the contacts and rubber contacts and would cause more headaches down the road!!! Use a type of paper or sponge that would not leave particles behind!!!!

Hello Tommy Helgevold, it's great job. But please pardon me, I cannot understant.. FM frequency 87.5 MHz - 108.0 MHz . For proper resonant L- C values must be 1pF capacitor needs 3.31uH - 2.21 uH or for instance 20pF capacitor needs 0.165 uH - 0.108 uH AM frequency 522 kHz - 1620 kHz. For proper resonant L- C values must be 100 pF capacitor needs 911 uH - 96 uH or for example 20pF capacitor needs 4.555 miliHenries - 480 microHenries On internet Single-Layer Coil Calculator says Coil former diameter ( D ) = 3 cm, Number of turns ( N )=32 turns, Length of the coil ( l ) I guess =5 cm or 6 cm CALCULATE ....L = 13.330 uH or 15.196 uH, That's not important d=0.2 mm or 0.7 mm ... So your radio is not an AM or a FM ...

My great grandparents and later my grandma owned the house at 296 53rd Street. I believe my great grandfather built at least part of the house. They were Finnish immigrants that came to work at the canneries after a stint in bleak North Dakota. There was still black paint remnants left on the windows from WWII when I was growing up. My grandma didn't do much with the garden but there's many photos of my great grandparents standing proudly in the yard with my great grandma's dahlias and great grandpa's wooden spinners and yard art. It was split into a duplex by the time I was around, but was originally a 3 bed 2 bath house. My grandma and I would take the river walk when I came to visit her. She passed when I was 10. My other grandparents were near Cullaby Lake in Warrenton. I spent most summer breaks there growing up. My mom used to work at the Ship Inn. My great aunt Helmi worked at Home Baking Company on Marine Drive. My grandma would tell stories about working at the canneries at back in the day, and being able to stand out on the sand bar and there were so many salmon you could scoop them up in your arms (this may be hyperbole). Some part of my mom's side of the family owned Skipanon Canning-- they had my great grandma's salmon chowder recipe on their can. The Northern Oregon coast has a touch of magic.

Magic indeed, thanks for the insight and your story, very interesting read. Yes, Astoria have a very rich Finn community too, I've met at least two of them when I last visited Astoria, one of them had been an barber for 38 years in Astoria, lovely lady - showed me around town. Another one was at the Benjamin Inn, I got the great fortune of tasting a bit of Finnish pastry Cardamon Cinnamon Rolls baked to perfection.

I blew mines trying to clean the contacts, I bought mines in mid 90's. I cleaned every contact. But when I screwed everything back up a couple of notes were still not working so I opened it again. This time I decided not to screw everything back together again and test the keys while it was open. I thought this would be easier but unfortunately I touched something inside against something metal on my desk and blew the thing. Just bought a dd50 rack which is a roland d50 without the keys. I will now be able to access the sounds via midi controller and at least I won't have the contact problem again. But I bet I can fix my roland d50 if I knew better what I was doing.
