Hello Raul. Yeah, this was the longest period I have been absent from KZfaq, I have been distracted by other activities and to be honest, I'm not sure that I'm going to return on a regular basis. We'll see. Regarding this disc, I always thought that the original release was from 1987, but apparentely it is not, It's much older than that. For a few years now this platform hasn't appreciated us, and I realize this because, by doing a simple calculation, the number of views on this video, after 6 days, as well as mine, coincides with 10% of the total number of our respective followers. Apart from that, my channel hasn't been growing in subscribers even though more people comment. Although I'm not so worried about the numbers, back in the days when I started making videos, despite having less than 200 followers, my videos could easily reach 1500 views in a month. Although I now have 3000+ followers, many of my videos don't even reach 500 views; in the last 3 years, my videos, the view counter, have been frozen in average 350 views. *Coincidence?* _I don't think so!!_ 😡 Just at the beginning of this year, one my videos was blocked around the world, fortunelly I have no strke. Hello there, glad to see you here. The other Brasil 66 video I made 5 years ago, was to my surprise very successful regarding views and comments. (successful for a vinyl video, of course) Even after all these years I get positive comments, and many are very enthusiastic. And to me this is a bit of a puzzle, because there are lots of popular singers and bands from the same era which still resonate in our collective memory, but I wouldn't put Brasil 66 in the same level of popularity and influence in pop culture, do you know what I mean? To be honest, I made videos with very well known and massively popular artists, and I could only get a small fraction of views and positive comments on those videos. On the other hand, the comments I get on that Brasil 66 video are very very nostalgic, somehow this band was able to hit the sentimental nerve in lots of people.

@@MrVinylObsessive You will always see me here. I subscribed 6 years ago when you posted Jean Michel Jarre's Oxygene and haven't missed a single post since. Your taste in music has led me to purchase several "vintage vinyl" LPs and even a few reissues. In one of my posts I commented that I love your taste in music, but my wallet hates it. I have never been disappointed in your choices. There are some reissues that really are higher quality than the original. The one thing is that the original may have something unintended on it (accidental sound) and it is mixed out of the reissue - that I don't like. As for Brasil 66 having the same level of popularity, I do know what you mean. I also understand that many times our live are shaped by something we have heard and fallen in love with that everyone else seems to have ignored. In any case, I do know that every time I see that you have posted, I do nothing else until I have listened to it. Knowing it will be the first of many times, it is always worth putting aside life for a few minutes to listen. Thanks, Rui.

Eres sin duda lo que se llama un "Ciudadano del Mundo". ☺ Sergio Mendes y su banda tenían unos cuantos temas originales muy buenos, pero creo que su punto fuerte eran las versiones que hacían de clásicos de la música popular. Eran capaces de hacer unos arreglos preciosos de canciones ya famosas. Es el caso de este hit de los Beatles, pero tienen muchos otros. Pondré un enlace en la descripción de otro vídeo mío de hace 5 años del mismo LP.

Hi Stewart, thank you very much. Yes, I'm back but I will not come here as often as before, I'm a bit busy and this hobby became secondary for me. It will be more of an ocasional thing than a regular occurrence. Lani had a wonderful voice, but her colleague wasn't bad either, but I guess she missed the limelight in favor of Lani for some reason. But Sergio Mendes was the genius behind all this, I bet with a helping hand from Herb Alpert. Wonderful arrangements.

@@MrVinylObsessive I know that feeling of not having time, my dad has been unwell over the last 18 months and more so over the last 6 months, so dealing with all those things takes its toll, no point in spending all that time and effort when it is after all only a hobby!!!!!. ( I often wonder how much YT has made from our time and effort). Sergio has "a lot" to thank Herb for in the mid to late 1960s not to mention Herb's A&M label.
