Stunning scenery, and weather! We have the same plane - a UL-450 - but I've not been able to fly for a long time because here, in the east of England, it has been raining on-and-off for weeks and the grass runway is like a lake! Looking forward to some dry weather and getting back in the air 🙂
@vindskeiveluftvegar57473 ай бұрын
It’s been a long and hard winter in Norway with minimal flying also, but things are getting better now that the winter is loosening it’s grip. Happy flying when the grass runway is dry again! 😊

@@vindskeiveluftvegar5747 Thank you. Whereabouts in Norway are you? Two years ago we had a fantastic few days in Tromsø and Skjervøy. Beautiful country.
@vindskeiveluftvegar57473 ай бұрын
@@NotSoBigDaveC We are located in a town called Kristiansund in the middle of the country by the coast. The airport is called Kvernberget airport and ENKB is the ICAO code. Tromsø is farther north, but it’s also a beautiful place to fly. Other than the 450UL we have a PA28 and England would be a fun country to visit sometime.

Love that intro and outro walking the airplane. Hope to visit on the next "Open Day" - the last one was HUGE with a vast number of aircraft. I hope your windshield was not as foggy IRL as it showed in the video. And great to include that ATC comm sound. Thanks!
@vindskeiveluftvegar57477 ай бұрын
No, it’s not so foggy as it looks but the fog also clears as soon the airplane is airborne. We are planning to repeat last year’s success and cross our fingers for nice weather and hope that we get a lot of visitors this year also. ✈️

Amazing video! It's a flying school owned aircraft? Can anyone rent it for such a flight?
@vindskeiveluftvegar57477 ай бұрын
Hi. No, this plane is privately owned by me, but we have a PA28 which we rent out to pilots who have a LAPL or PPL (a check out with instructor is required before renting).

out of 10 how much would you give the sim Archer for realism?
@vindskeiveluftvegar574710 ай бұрын
Hi. It’s difficult to comment on the flight characteristics because I don’t know if it’s limitations in MSFS or in the airplane model, but I can write down what’s positive and what’s negative. Positive: - All instruments and equipment work good and are close to real life. - Textures and layout of the cockpit is true to the real airplane. - Feels ok when in the air (but a simulator can’t replicate a real flight so I don’t blame Just Flight for this). Negative: - The rudder is to responsive both on ground and in air. In real life it’s more sluggish. - The turn radius on ground is way to good and the real plane doesn’t have this sharp turn capability. - When the altimeter reads 1000ft the perspective to the ground in real life is more like 500ft (maybe this is a MSFS limitation?). - It’s easier to trim the real plane and hold the assigned height. Conclusion: I think this is a good product and I use it for instrument training/procedures and getting familiar with new airports I want to visit in real life. Later I will try to make a direct comparison between real life and simulation.

@@vindskeiveluftvegar5747 wow thanks for this very comprehensive answer, was going to ask specifically about the trim, I find it so tricky in the Sims.
@vindskeiveluftvegar574710 ай бұрын
@@fulanitoflyerNo problem and happy to help. In the simulator you can bust airspace by 200-300ft in the blink of an eye and this is not realistic. It would be “catastrophic” if this happened in real life in a controlled airspace. So I think the suspicion you have is correct.

Thanks! Ok, I never use the autopilot since I don’t have it in the real plane either (had to remove it because of the same reason, it was dangerous 😂). Hope Just Flight fix it soon. 😊

Nice one, but how were the winds, anything over 5 knots cross becomes a life or death emergency for most of us.
@vindskeiveluftvegar574710 ай бұрын
I used “live weather” and ENAL had about 8kt cross wind at that time if I remember correctly. In real life I have a personal limit at about 17kt direct cross wind and about two weeks ago I landed in 25-35kt wind, but it came from about 12 degrees to the left so the majority was a head wind. Even at that speed it’s possible to land as long you fly “into the wind”, but I recommend just one stage of flaps and add 10-15 knots to the approach speed.

Hello from Washington State in the US. I have one of 4 Calypsos registered in the US (almost the same plane as the UL-450). I'm enjoying your videos. Today was my longest day of flying so far. This time of year it can get a little smoky here, but it's also beautiful.
