FUCK THE NPSL! First you kick Tulsa for a batshit insane reason that’s turned out to a lie, now Las Vegas Legends FC. This league is a joke.

Yeah, well, the NPSL barred the team for absolutely no reason from playing this season. Now, they’ve kicked Las Vegas Legends FC from participating in the playoffs because of another lie. Don’t support this league anymore, it’s become a fraud.

For everyone talking about Pro-Rel, I support it and want to be in the leagues and in MLS but they can’t do it right now, it’s not feasible, USL teams and the teams below need a soccer specific stadium and they need television deals, also MLS is a single-entity model, until they do what I said above and removed the single-entity model, then I don’t see Pro-Rel happening.

We need money funding towards clubs like stadiums and development academies for players in locally area’s in cities or towns and and need all leagues to talk this out

I really don’t know why I’ve been so scared to play and trial at this level. Seeing matches like this, and the fact that I got on an u23 side makes me confident that not only can I play at this level but I can do really well if I improve my tactical consistency. Honestly I think I could even play at a usl3 or usl level too but that will take a lot more practice in every aspect of my game, which is why I will keep practicing and keep working.

Duluth beat afc ann arbor fair and square but boy did they play the definition of poor sporsmanship. They constantly dived and fake injured the entire time they were up. They give soccer players a bad name. Afc ann arbor will be back next year. We had so many injuries the entire season and players on leave yet still finnished 5th in the nation. The only team (that didn't move cities or rebrand) to make the final 16 or better 3 times in a row. Only team to win their division twice in a row. And only team to finnish in the top 5 twice in a row. We are the best consistent team in the npsl!

Yes, pro/rel is the standard in other leagues around the globe... leagues that have been around at least 50, 80, 100+ years. There isn't enough of an infrastructure system to support a 4-tier, 20+ teams per tier, pro/rel system in the U.S. at this time. MLS owners who are putting multiple millions of dollars into buying/establishing a team won't join if there's a chance their team will get relegated by a 'Boise FC' that was bought for $15,000 (again not to mention the stadia situation I eluded to earlier). I also believe that one of the strengths of U.S. sports is the salary cap system which insures parity among teams, something I know that the NASL was against (and look where they are now). Frankly, I'm tired of the same 4 teams in the EPL and the same 2 teams in La Liga, Bundesliga, etc. being in contention while every other team just hopes they're mid-table and won't be relegated. I find it hard to believe the same pro/rel supporters would get behind salary caps. It's no coincidence that the investors of NASL (and by association, NPSL) are for pro/rel - they've been locked out of the MLS/USL/PDL system and the only way to transcend amateur status (or to hope to have another professional league) is to push for a place at the table. Like it or not, MLS is, and will remain, the premier league in the U.S. and trying to fight the USSF is a fool's errand. Also, in most other countries with premier leagues and pro/rel, Soccer is one of the most - if not THE most - popular sports, with very little real competition from other sports. In the U.S. we have NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA, etc.; leagues that are generally more popular (at the moment) than MLS, which makes pro/rel even less likely because there is only so much sports/entertainment revenue to go around. The only way for pro/rel to work in the U.S. would be: More money put into the soccer infrastructure (training systems, stadia, mainstream TV rights); The loss of popularity of other U.S. league sports (which will probably happen but not anytime soon); and just simply: time. Remember, the new iteration of MLS is only 24 years old - and while it's made tremendous progress, going to pro/rel too soon might just prematurely hobble the sport in the U.S.

Pro/rel must happen for the game to grow in the United States. It’s ironic that the format in association football that lets you work your way to the top isn’t in the land of the American Dream.

The Great Mallard yep. America is the place where you can start with nothing and through hard work and some luck make it...unless you’re a football club. Then you must just be born rich lol

@ancientadrian5144 жыл бұрын
The Great Mallard Not in the US sports world. All the major sports leagues in the US are a closed system with no pro/rel. Lower level teams/minor league are not valuable because they’re not on tv nor do they generate billions of dollars.
