has Dr Duclos trained any specialists in the Washington DC area for CO2 laser treatment on Interdigital Cysts? - thank you.
@VetScalpel6 ай бұрын
I don't know. But you could try requesting a list of veterinarians in the DC area that use the laser here: www.vetscalpel.com/pet-owners/locate-a-veterinarian/ Another option would be to contact Dr. Duclos's clinic www.animaldermatology.com/locations/lynnwood

I would like to know do you suture skin together or leave open and bandage? What if you keep ablating and the skin is so thin or go all the way through; would you end up having limited range of motion of the toes?
@VetScalpel9 ай бұрын
Rachel, you can learn more about the procedure here: www.vetscalpel.com/case-studies/recurrent-interdigital-draining-tracts-treated-with-co2-laser-ablation/

I only recently learned this can occur in animals but oh my gosh, I can't imagine the discomfort of all those cysts blocking the follicles! What a great job by the vet and the team, I bet that dog is feeling a whole lot better these days

My mums cat (12 years old I think) has what looks exactly like this, though they arent quite as big. Her vet has her and my sister convinced he either needs his entire ear removed or he needs to be put down. Can this condition warrant such extreme measures, or would that be completely unnecessary?

You might consider getting a second opinion from a laser veterinarian. www.aesculight.com/pet-owners/locate-a-veterinarian/

I'm wondering if this very laser could be used to trim the wen from a goldfish. I"m interested in finding a method of wen removal that the average goldfish keeper could do on their own. Thanks so much for the video. Fascinating
@VetScalpel3 жыл бұрын
Brenda the laser can be used to vaporize or "trim" any soft tissue. That would include trimming a wen. However, the laser can only be used by trained veterinarians.

Were there sutures on the French Bulldog? The after picture was 4 weeks post op. Could my vet use this on my French Bulldog, who had stenotic nare surgery; but, popped his stitches? He has gone through surgery twice. He popped stitches on both sides first time, went through second surgery, and now popped stitches on one side. I am concerned that if he has surgery again, he won’t have much of a nose left. We keep him in his cone at all times (except dinner time), and we don’t leave his side.
@VetScalpel3 жыл бұрын
Using this laser technique of stenotic nares surgery often no sutures are used. You can learn more at www.aesculight.com/case-studies/co2-laser-allows-bloodless-repair-of-stenotic-nares/ There is another laser technique that can also be used where sutures are placed: www.aesculight.com/case-studies/brachycephalic-obstructive-airway-syndrome-stenotic-nares/
